"I’d rate this vacation rental a 8.5 out of 10. The good points - Large master bedroom and large en suite. The other 2 large bedrooms each have their own en suites. But each are accessed through exterior doors. All 3 bedrooms have their own AC unit which made it very comfortable to sleep. This property is an easy drive to Volcano National Park. "The jungle noises at night were so loud we had to use subtitles on the TV if we wanted to watch a show, as we didn't want to close the screened glass doors and miss out on the outdoor vibe. It was a great experience, and totally different from a resort (which we did the previous several days). We stay here again. "

"We have family a street over so it was nice to be in close proximity to everyone. Nice house , just closed the windows and the coqui frogs weren’t a real bother at night to sleep ."

"1st trip to the big island, celebrating our wedding anniversary and recent retirement. Spent the 1st 4 day on west side (Kono area) and the last 4 days on the east side (Hilo area). Have to say we really enjoyed our time in Hilo and up the north coast - simply beautiful. The Cozy Retreat Guest House was a good home base for our site seeing trips and offered a comfortable place to wind down and relax at the end of the day. "Very quiet neighborhood North of Hilo. You have to drive to get to anything, but this is a nice house that is decorated well and has everything you need. Very comfortable even without AC. It does get buggy, which is normal for the area. I also liked being in a house, but not feeling like I was staying IN someone’s home."

"We spent 2 weeks here for a sporting event. It was clean and spacious. The kitchen was really well stocked. There were lots of hangout/extra sofas in the basement. Bathrooms are well set up with the toilet separate from the sinks. Great central location for exploring by car. It is right across from a small prison that was not bothersome. The house is on a main road that can be busy. Fans in the rooms were adequate for the heat. We enjoyed our stay!"
