Not as listed

The property is modern and clean but in no way does it accommodate 8. There was no double futon as listed and the queen beds are actually full beds. Be prepared to stock everything yourself and I do mean everything. A few rolls of toilet paper and a few trash bags were available but that’s it. Kitchen supplies were very basic. Washing machine lid would not stay closed so no laundry could be done.

Stay For a Spontaneous Wedding in City Park

When our daughter called to tell us that she and her fiance had decided to get married on a Friday in City Park, we immediately began making plans for our stay. After booking our stay at "Golden Flake" in the Plum Orchard section of East New Orleans, we were contacted by the property manager with all of the pertinent information we would need for our stay. The directions provided were clear and precise. We arrived mid-afternoon on Friday and found the townhouse to be clean and comfortable. While the location does not offer much in the way of attractions, the neighborhood is quiet and convenient to practically all of the best sites in New Orleans. We were less than a 20 minute drive from City Park, and some of the best restaurants in the city. We will be back for another visit in the not-too-distant future. Thanks!

Great Property

This was a very nice property. The area at first appeared questionable, but was pleasant and quiet. It was very roomy and comfortable. The pictures do not do the home justice. If I had to list a negative, it would be that the garage was not available when we were under the impression that it would be. However, the owner made parking accommodations to avoid street parking. Overall, it was a very good experience, and my family and I would stay again in the future.

Best for 6 adults

Three bedroom are perfect for 6 adults. We had 7 and had to use a mattress on the floor in the living room. Worked out for us but I would recommend anyone with more people to find another listing. The neighborhood was safe and we enjoyed our short ride downtown and French quarter’s.

Ask for more pictures!!

The property was not cleaned properly. There were open food left in the pantry along with an almost empty bottle of vodka. Empty and almost empty shampoo and body wash left in the upstairs bathroom, a dirty washcloth was left hanging over the shower curtain rod in the master bedroom. There was no washer, only a dryer. A dirty mattress and other items were in the laundry room. Only four plates , and there was five of us. Only plastic spoons and forks, no dishcloths to wash the dishes. We had to go and buy dish detergent to wash the dishesThere was a room across from the downstairs bathroom that had junk( no othe rway I can say it) piled up in it. In the description it stated there were contact information for the hospital, police and fire department. That contact information was not located in any part of the property. I did contact the owner and relayed my concern to him and he apologized and stated he will come by the next day to address our concerns. However, he never showed up. He did refund SOME of the cleaning fee and not all of it like I asked for, nevertheless he NEVER showed up. Every time I talked to him he put everything on the cleaning lady. Not Professional at ALL!! The property belongs to him and not the cleaning lady!!

Unsafe Location DO NOT BOOK

The unit is the only nice building in the area. The photo are an accurate representation, but the townhouse shows wear and tear and had broken chairs and appliances in the bathrooms. The location is very dangerous. Please check the crime rating before booking so you f do I not have the experience we did. We left the home locked with lights off and when we returned the front door was unlocked every light was on in the home. The description of the area is very misleading and it is unsafe. When we initially checked in the neighbor was very unfriendly yelling at us to move are car and when we returned there were several suspicious looking individuals outside in the yard and a white van kept driving around the house. We left that night. Several locals told us to never stay in the EAST. The next day on the news someone was murder will walking on the same street as the townhouse. A refund was requested and Richard stated that only a partial refund would be sent and it was never received. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Spend the extra $$$ for your safety.

Great location and getaway

It was exactly how it was marketed. We really enjoyed ourselves. If we’re ever in New Orleans again, I will definitely book this condo. It was super clean and peaceful.

Quick New Orleans getaway

We made a three day weekend trip to NO and stayed here. Very comfortable, clean place to stay. It’s about a 15 minute drive to downtown, or up to Lake Pontchartrain.

Birthday Trip

We visited New Orleans for my friend's birthday. We were a group of 6 adults, 1 guy and 5 ladies. I would recommend for a group of 6. We had plenty of space. The only small issue we had was the heat didnt seem to work downstairs, but worked great upstairs! This wasn't a huge issue, as I didn't even bother to bring it to the host's attention. We visited in January and the weather was on the cooler side. Otherwise, we didnt have any other issues with this place. The host even let us check in early! I would book this home again.

Graduation

We were in NOLA to watch my daughter defend for her Dr. at Tulane. The property was very clean from the kitchen to the bathrooms, very well decorated and we felt safe in the neighborhood. We had no issues with the property, but anytime I contacted the host there was an immediate response. The only negative is in one part of the description it says 3 bedroom, in another area it says 4 bedroom and list a futon and a sofa bed in the fourth bedroom. The fourth bedroom does not exist, the futon and sofa bed is in the Master Bedroom with the king bed. But overall an excellent place to stay. I would stay here again if ever in the area.

Nice Trip

We had a great time. The home is close to the freeway so it was a breeze getting around town. The house is beautifully decorated and the beds were nice and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with appliances. We were a party of 7 women and an infant, we felt safe the whole time while in the house. The only caution is that there is no washer or dryer in the house. The owner said that they were being maintenance. With a large party of women, many showers and outfit changes we desperately needed to do laundry by the 3rd day. We had to take time out of our trip to now schedule a laundry mat visit, it was located down the street but it was in a more rundown part of the neighborhood. Overall we had a very nice trip.

Essence Festival 2023

What a beautiful home. Pictures really don’t give the home justice. We were a little concerned with the neighborhood and being in the East of Nola, but we had no problems at all. Easy access to Downtown and any other place we needed to get to. Will definitely stay there again!!

Review

The property itself was nice, despite the illusion of it being a full house. I solely picked this property because it stated that it allowed events/parties. However, shortly after I checked in that changed. The listing didn’t say anything about an extra fee, which I had no problem paying, but the miscommunication and deception is what i didn’t appreciate. Everything else besides that was good and I enjoyed my overall stay.
