"This hotel has a lobby that feels more like a regular hotel than a japanese business hotel, but conversely, the opposite applied to my room. The room was comfortable (the bed was very nice), but while it was clean, there definitely was a few spots that could have done with a bit more cleaning- such as a mysterious white spot on the couch. Even so, I had a good stay overall, and the staff were very nice. Still, I'd say you're mainly paying for the convenient location right next to Kumamoto...

The room was spacious and clean, the staff were absolutely fantastic, the food from the restaurant was incredible, and the area around the hotel was beautiful and exciting to explore. Unfortunately, I didn't have an opportunity to use the public bath facility, so I can't say anything about that.
Just to note, only a few of the staff speak English so basic Japanese skills would be recommended. The station is a 20 minute walk from the hotel, so keep that in mind...
