"As English only speakers we really enjoyed our time at BaliAn even though most of the staff spoke only a small amount of English. They really looked after us, and with the use of Google Translate we managed to get things sorted out very quickly.
This is a really lovely hotel, quiet and great to get away from the busy hustle bustle of Tokyo. Be aware that it is about 1km from the train station that takes you directly into Tokyo (Shibuya) but you can get a Uber or a bus there quite easily (or...

"Out of the main area of tokyo with not alot of dining options and really nothing to do around the hotel. But hotel was super nice with a ton of free amenities including a 24 hour bar where you can just help yourself. Rooms were really nice too :) great atmoshepe like a little bali paradise. next time I will stay in shinjinku area at the Bali-an which is the way to go!"

"Great location away from the usual Tokyo central locations. Excellent location next to the local station for getting around. Being that little bit further out, rooms were bigger. Usual Tokyustay great amenities. The in room washer/drier walkways so very welcome and helps keep packing light.. "

Suggest using two futon if you are not so l used to sleeping in the floor. The air conditioning was great cause it was hot outside. "The owners are very attentive, and present the Ryokan as your being a guest in their home. The traditional tatami is clean and comfortable. Lots of art and Japanese mementos all over, make you feel that you are in aJapanese home. Hot baths too!"

Shortly after, we noticed two lines of badly smelling and sticky spots on the floor by the couch. The spots could be removed though. "We try to stay here whenever we are in this part of town, mainly because of the real onsen that they have.
Other things I like: potable water right out of the faucet in the bathroom, overall cleanness, and closed to stores and train stations. "

Hotellet ligger ca. ti min. gang fra den store togstation hvorfra man let kommer rundt i byen. Værelset var fint. Manglede dog et sted at gøre af vores tøj. Stor morgenbuffet med masser af japanske retter og god udsigt. God/høj service alle steder. På vej til stationen er der mange restauranter.

"The place is clean and neat and the stuff is very helpful. But, and it was a bit But for me - there is no even smallest lounge place or any other place to be and work. The reception area is combined with a cafe, which is very busy and popular among the locals. I was missing a place to work in peace, so ended up working in my capsule, which was of course a bit punk. But if you are on holidays and just need a place to sleep - the place is perfect for a budget travellers."

"Super small rooms. We had thought, doesn't matter, we're not gonna be in the room anyway. But it's too small. No space for a suitcases and the air is terrible. We both had sore and dry throats all the while we stayed there "

They did an extra cleaning of the bathroom, but it didn't help at all. Two of us woke up with bad headaches, one with symptomes like a cold and one with irritated eyes. We contacted hotels.com, and they did a lot to help us, but the hotel wouldn't grant us any refunds. Mould is not healthy for anyone, so we decided to find another hotel for the remaining nights, which cost us a whole lot of extra money. Some hours after we've left, the symptoms were gone, so it was worth it. "
