"If you would like a taste of indian luxury at a reasonable price then Umaid Mahal is a good place to start. Everything in the hotel is extremely well kept with high-quality furniture being used in reception, rooms restaurants, etc. The only disadvantage is that it is not centrally located. It takes about 20 minutes in a rickshaw to come to City Palace, but this drive will on the other hand give you a view of everyday Jaipur."

"The hotel insisted on seeing our Indian visa, claiming our entry stamps weren’t sufficient even though we’d arrived just four days earlier and obviously couldn’t have entered the country without a visa. They couldn’t explain why they needed it, and this had never been an issue at the two previous hotels we stayed at. The rooms were unbelievably filthy, and there was a bird trapped in the vent shrieking like a siren. We left immediately and didn’t stay. Lost the money for 3 nights X 2 rooms. Too...
