Cottage Manua is a charming small vacation rental located on Motu Temae, on the northeast coast of Moorea.

Motu Temae is a former islet that is now joined to the mainland. It is a unique spot on Moorea, loved by local and international travelers for its laid-back atmosphere and rustic scenery reminiscent of the Polynesian atolls. Lush greenery, including the famous miki miki, a twisted, salt-tolerant shrub, lines the long white-sand beach. What makes Motu Temae special is the narrow lagoon running alongside it. The ocean is so close that during whale season (August to October) you can watch whales right from the beach. Several pools of white coral sand are within reach for swimming and snorkeling.

Cottage Manua is reached from the road that runs along the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course. It sits off a coral lane at the heart of a small residential enclave of houses and bungalows.

Surrounded by a beautifully kept tropical garden, Cottage Manua has two air-conditioned bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor, plus a mezzanine bedroom with a fan.

Its all-wood architecture and boho-chic décor give the cottage its charm and make it an ideal retreat for a truly relaxing vacation.

The large air-conditioned living area, with its open-plan kitchen, opens onto a spacious deck overlooking the garden. High ceilings keep the room cool, and there is also a foosball table.

Wi-Fi, snorkeling masks and snorkels, and a barbecue are provided free of charge.

The beach is just a few minutes’ walk away, along a narrow path that winds between the homes of this small residential area.
