Beautiful views in a country farm setting

Overlooking the Great Deviding Range and farmland. Peace and quiet in this tranquil 100 acres property. Back block natural bush land with undulating hills. Nature at your doorstep, kangaroos, wallabies including the tiny Pademelons, koalas. Native birds to the area. You may here dingoes (wild dogs) howling in the distance. Friendly lowline Angus cows Comet, Ira, Nugget the bull and Stormy the heifer feeding in the paddocks plus offspring and 2 Galloways and calf who love a a slice of bread. Our friendly minature horses Buddy the stallion, Bell the mare and Jock her offspring. Our poultry who come down to visit chooks and ducks. Fireplace for those wintery nights. Outdoor fire pit with seating taking in the sky full of glistening stars. Lots of destinations to visit in the Scenic Rim which has been named the 8th best destination in the world. Fresh rain water on tap. Once again views to die for. You have privacy from our house due to distance and trees.
Please note shops are a 30 minute drive to Rosewood for groceries, pubs, service station Drs, post office, second hand shops etc. Or Aratula 23 minutes has a pub, bakery and service stations. Traffic is at a minimum.

Check in and out were easy. The little cosy farmhouse was filled with character and lovely personal touches. It had a warm and friendly feel. Everything was very clean, everything you might need was provided and the beds were comfortable. The surrounding peaceful countryside was picture perfect complete with farm animals and kangaroos at your back door at dusk. Sunrise was amazing. There is no internet and phone reception is poor but the stay is a getaway from the hustle and bustle of normal life and allows you to recharge. My UK friends absolutely loved this beautiful country Aussie experience.

Great memories

Taking home wonderful memories of our stay... feeding the animals in the afternoon, then sitting by the fire pit and exploring the scenic rim during the day. Thank you again

Great country mini-break

After going to the Winter Harvest Festival in Kalbar this was a nice spot to refresh before going to the Harvest Hoedown at the Cow Bar in Kalbar :)Beautiful views, charming cottage. Very helpful and prompt communication with Christine.Great to have AC heating to take the chill out of the cool night. A bit noisy compared to the serenity of the surroundings. We had the opportunity to meet the mini horses and was provided carrots from the host to hand feed them. Photos on the profile are accurate. So beautiful out there.A really relaxed mini break. Thanks C M for hosting us!

A farm stay

Mark and Christina were very helpful and friendly, answering all my questions. Beautifully presented with a sunflower theme throughout the cottage. Bed was very comfortable. Location was a bit more isolated than I realised when I booked. Kalbar was the closest place for groceries and meals about half a hour away. Very friendly people at the pub. However, we only discovered that we didn’t have mobile coverage that night so we couldn’t ring Mark to ask some questions about the television.Would have been nice if there was wood for the fireplace but maybe it wasn’t cold enough. A crackling fire at night is so cosy. Bathroom was accessible on the outside verandah. Bring a torch. Couldn’t fault their hospitality.

Lovely Quaint Cottage

Lovely quiet place, beautiful views, kids loved being in the country, and the host was very accommodating and didn't interfere with us at all. The compost toilet took a little getting used to, but overall a great stay

Reprieve from chaos

Someone I like quite a bit and myself enjoyed the lush views and lack of light pollution: we loved watching the chickens and baby cows. The cottage was bigger than we expected and we really appreciated the fridge and oven. We particularly enjoyed the air con. My friend left his phone charger behind so I’ll be contacting the owner as well as letting them know I’d love to come back again

Country getaway

We had a wonderful stay. The views and sunsets were lovely. We were lucky with the weather for our stay with sunshine and also cloud covered mountains and rain. The house was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The kitchenette, dining and living room area was a little smaller than expected but we made it work. The layout of the house was very different with 2 bedrooms and bathroom off the veranda but that worked for us very well. The horses and cows and the abundance of wildlife was amazing. Any concerns we had during our stay were quickly attended too. Thank you for nice getaway.

Weekend getaway

Great peaceful location for a long weekend getaway for a couple/family. We enjoyed the stay on this lovely property. Perfect for a chill weekend of doing nothing, or exploring the area depending on your interest. Such a beautiful part of South East QLD. Hot tip, approach the property from the northern end of Tarome Rd to avoid the approximately 6km patch of gravel road from the south, unless you have a suitable vehicle. It's totally driveable in a sedan, but a bit bumpy, dusty & a few potholes and corrugations. Will be back again in the near future for another stay.

A Perfect Country Getaway

Christine was a great host, and a pleasure to talk to. If you want an easy getaway in the scenic rim at a farm with perfect views do not look past this cottage. I usually look for bigger places to stay in a group, but the cottage gave way more than I expected. The three rooms are almost their own separate cottages there is just more space and privacy than I expected. Honestly, I could not have had a better time, laughing, cooking and going to the lake and enjoying the views the Scenic Rim has to offer. If you are traveling with your family or a small group, look no further. Thank you Christine and Mark for having us and for anyone who stays next, please give the pony some slices of bread from me.
