"Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Comfortable rooms with good ensuite facilities at a great price. Restaurant has excellent dishes at good prices and the bar serves a good range of drinks again at good prices. A Continental Breakfast is included and there is no cooked breakfast option. The only drawback is the lack of a lift and one or two floors are a bit unveven but to be expected at over 400 years old. "

"Very basic room, could do with some improvements such as soap in the bathroom, a spoon to stir tea/coffee. Tea bags just loose, would be better in a sachet. Didn’t dare try any food in the bar/dining room due to the large rats seen running in the area near the kitchen and bin area. No housekeeping, nobody came into my room during my stay to make the bed, change the towels and empty the waste bin in the room, disappointing.
