"We stayed for five wonderful nights at D Canal House and had the feeling of living in the middle of the jungle. Every day, we relaxed in the nice and cozy pool area of the hotel while spotting exotic birds and other animals. The breakfast was really good, and the staff (Milan and Briaya) were absolutely fantastic. Their way of being contributed to making the overall experience absolutely perfect.

"There are 3 hotels in the Somerset group. This is away from the beach. Its up a very steep narrow concrete road. Its dark in the night and only 1 vehicle can go up or down this dark narrow road. The hotel staff are really nice. The rooms are a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was a joke as compared to hotels we have stayed in colombo. There was no buffet. Just a plate of fruit and eggs if you asked. Better stay is closer to the beach and somerset has a hotel right on tne beach"

The hotel provides towels for the beach as well as the pool and the breakfast was a good spread with an egg station. All staff were friendly and calm. Coconut tree hill is a very short walk and mirissa beach was 200lrk in a tuk tuk but was also walkable. Would definitely stay again"

"Overall, this hotel is very average. There were a few positive and negatives. I’ll start with the positives. After asking for water and toiletries, they were eventually provided. They let me shower after checkout and stored my bag, which was nice!

We upgraded during our stay as we was originally in a double room with no AC. It was far too small and hot. So we then paid to move upstairs. The room had AC and was bigger for our cases.
