It offers an ideal holiday base for people who want to get out into nature, for hiking or biking. Yet it is conveniently close to shops, restaurants and bars.

The open-plan living area is flooded with sunlight thanks to large windows which look out towards the lake and mountains. There is a glass door out onto a private balcony, furnished with a dining table and chairs, as well as armchairs, so guests can enjoy meals al fresco. Back indoors the seating area has a contemporary sofa, flat-screen TV, plus a dining table and chairs. The immaculate kitchen, next to the dining table, is equipped with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and Nespresso coffee machine.

The apartments in the building share a swimming pool (open from mid-May to mid-September), and a well-tended garden where guests can sunbathe after a relaxing dip.

The apartment is in an attractive modern residence in a quiet area just 5 minutes from the centre of Locarno. The lakeside, with several small beaches, is just a 10-minute walk away. Guests can find all amenities close by, including supermarkets and banks, as well as a wide range of excellent restaurants to suit all budgets.

Guests can enjoy La Dolce Vita, with a Swiss touch in Locarno. The Thursday market in Piazza Grande combines a farmers market where you can pick up the best local produce with stalls selling regional crafts and second-hand clothes, books etc.

Bellinzona (25 minutes) is famous for its 3 medieval castles, which make up a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is a great day trip. If you miss the Locarno market then Bellinzona’s weekly market (Saturday morning) is one of the best in the region.

The closest international airport is in Italy, Milan Malpensa is 1 hour 20 minutes away by car.
