Did the full zip line tour here and it was the best zip lines I’d ever done. There are places where you can’t even see the other end of the line that you’re on as you glide at high speeds, hundreds of feet above the jungle.#Adventure

The Mindo Cloud forest is a short drive from bustling Quito, but it feels like an entirely different world. One of the most popular things to do in Mindo is to hike. The hike to the Cascadas took us around 21/2 hours and was well worth it for the incredible views. Along the hike, we saw countless butterflies, hummingbirds, orchids, and incredible waterfalls. #LifeAtExpediaGroup

I love the mountains, but exploring the rainforests in Ecuador was just as beautiful. This was one of many waterfalls we discover on our hike, and just look at all that green!!

This great little lodge in the heart of the Ecuadorian cloud forest has it's own hummingbird garden for you to enjoy without any treking involved. I am guessing that this is a juvenile male Purple-throated Woodstar who is still trying to fill out his purple beard.

Here we have a very distinctive hummingbird - the Collared Inca. In most lighting they appear all black with a white chest. but if you get them out in some direct light you can make out the blue/violet cap and the green throat.

Make sure you hire a birding guide for your visit to the valley. In addition to locating and identifying the birds, a guide is the only way you'll find this amazing hummingbird garden. It's hidden among some dense vegetation, with the only marker being an overgrown footpath leading from the road.
