The hotel itself was OK, with decent food and some genuinely kind staff, particularly the doormen, housekeeping team, and one young male employee in the main restaurant. However, the stay was consistently affected by significant language barriers. Very few staff members spoke or understood English, leading to repeated issues with basic requests such as room temperature, food orders, and even obtaining an extra room key. As English-speaking guests from the UK, we often felt overlooked and found communication unnecessarily frustrating.
The spa experience ultimately ruined the trip. After being wrongly reassured about privacy in the hammam and later receiving a very poor-quality manicure, the situation escalated due to the behaviour of a spa manager who was dismissive, argumentative, and refused to apologise or take responsibility. Although a refund was eventually provided, the lack of professionalism and respect overshadowed any positives. Despite some goodwill gestures from the hotel, the spa management’s conduct left a lasting negative impression, and based on this experience, I would not return or recommend the hotel.
