We had a wonderful stay at this Lodge. It looked exactly like the photos and description with no surprises at all. Everything is well maintained and clearly cared for, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The unique details throughout the house truly make it stand out.All the amenities worked perfectly as advertised, including strong Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, and the hot tub. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided.Overall, this was a smooth and enjoyable experience, and we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Our family of 8 loved this property! We were very impressed with all the provided amenities - our hosts thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, mountain and pond views, and the fascinating cabin decor. There was plenty of space for us to spread out, but still cozy and welcoming. We had a great time and will highly recommend!

Joe Walker Hollow is a relaxing lodge with numerous features that appeal to everyone. After spending 5 days here, it has become a must-stay when in the area. Our group of 8 was attending finals at the Virginia Horse Center. While the 30-minute drive felt long at first, it was easy to commute and the lodge offered a well-needed relaxing environment after a day of horse riding.

Absolutely beautiful place! We were looking for a large cabin/lodge style home to stay in with other family members and this place was perfect. Privacy, beauty, conversation pieces, etc. So much to do! The home lies between Staunton & Lexington/Natural Bridge, but there are no shops within a 20-minute drive, so bring lots of provisions. We only stayed for 3 nights but wished we would have booked a longer stay, as we spent several days visiting attractions such as The Safari Park Zoo, Natural Bridge & the huge Factory Antique Mall in Verona on the one rainy day. Hope to visit again next year for a longer stay!

We were in town for a wedding in Lexington. We had a truly wonderful stay! This was our very first VRBO experience, and it far exceeded our expectations. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and well stocked, with so many thoughtful touches throughout. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking—the mountain views alone are worth the trip!Our family especially loved spending time by the fishing pond, soaking in the hot tub, and enjoying evenings around the fire pit. The games for the kids were a big hit, and they were already asking when we can come back. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to explore the trails, but that just gives us the perfect reason to return for a longer stay.The only small suggestion we have is that the kids were on the lookout for hot cocoa at the “hot cocoa bar” since the sign made them excited for it—but everything else was absolutely perfect.We didn’t want to leave and are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you for making our first VRBO such an exceptional and memorable experience!!!!

Family gathering

We were in town for my daughter‘s college graduation. I had family coming in from Pennsylvania and Iowa and this property was perfect for our gathering! We went fishing in the pond, roasted hot dogs over the fire, and sat in the hot tub. The lodge was very large and there was more than enough room to socialize and celebrate. The lodge is beautiful and the grounds were peaceful. I highly recommend the lodge!

Great stay!

Couldn’t be happier with our stay. The place was exactly as described and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We didn’t have a ton of time there since we were competing at the Virginia horse center but the time we did have was super relaxing. My son and I even had time for a little fishing. The stars at night are amazing

Wonderful family experience!

Our family had an amazing time! The scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Our kids enjoyed the fishing pond, hiking trails and creek. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

Wedding weekend getaway

My friends and I came out to the area for a wedding and had a great stay at the lodge. The hosts were extremely responsive and the place was perfect for a big group of friends. We appreciated the very simple checkout process and absence of complicated instructions. The location was very remote so it’s difficult to get to things quickly but perfect for a quiet weekend in the mountains.

Labor Day Trip

This was our second time staying at this beautiful property and plan on retruning again in the future. We really enjoy the privacy of this property, the scenic views from the porch, and the fishing pond. At night, the stars are incredible to view when relaxing in the hot tub.

A spacious beautiful but cozy cabin

We had a very great experience visiting this cabin. It had a very cozy and warm feeling to it. Absolutely amazing views from the porch and the patio. How much ever I tell is less about our stay. The view of fog engulfed mountains, waking up to the tweets of so many birds, the early morning hikes in the trails. Following this; the experience of fishing in the small pond Provided at the property, As well as the facility of having a paddle boat and also a canoe. The kids and all of us adults experienced each different aspect. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of utensils And appliances. You didn’t need to use any of the utensils which we carried. Even the blankets, pillows were clean and umpteen. The place was also well stocked with board games and unique toys for kids. Each bedroom had its own ambience of a cozy cabin. The Property was furnished with so many trinkets and decorative items from the 1900 And some even older; Which makes the place even more interesting. A dream vacation Which we would never be able to express in its fullest. It was so much more than the words expressed here. Must stay experience for all I recommend everyone to surely book and enjoy their stay here. I surely would recommend all my friends.

Fantastic Four Days

The property is hundreds of acres, with brilliant star-filled skies at night, our five year old caught large mouth bass in the pond, we had a fire and smores in the giant metal fire pit, ate dinner outside on the back patio two nights, enjoyed the quiet of the country side, hiked the five miles of trails that are maintained on the property, sat by the gas fire place in the living room at night, prepared large meals in the kitchen and lots of coffee in the outer kitchen, found crawdads in the creek and hope we can find an excuse to go back every year. It was a great time!

Womderul VMI reunion weekend

My group of BR's and our families thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin for our 20 year VMI reunion. It's about a 25 min drive from Post but well worth the drive. We enjoyed the pond, canoes, pedal boats etc. The kids fished from the stocked pond which is catch and release. Our group enjoyed the fire pit at night and the beautiful scenery of the mountains from the deck and of course the Jacuzzi was a nice way to hang out at night. We will keep this property in mind for future reunion weekends!

Long weekend

We had an amazing time! We stayed with another family and there was plenty of room to have space if needed and all sit together for meals. The rocking chairs on the covered porch overlooking the field and pond were perfect for coffe and a blanket in the mornings. The beautiful stone fireplace was perfect in the evenings, while the kids were having a movie night upstairs. We have unanimously voted yes to coming back! Thank you so much for your hospitality and having everything we could need in the kitchen, bathrooms and even multiple binoculars!
