There’s carp and coarse fishing at Lincoln Lane Lakes (1.5 miles), while at Rand Farm Park (8.5 miles) you can feed the animals or take the youngsters for indoor and outdoor play. Walkers and cyclists can discover the scenic beauty of the Lincolnshire Wolds (9.5 miles), or you could head for the bright lights of Lincoln (15.5 miles) or Louth (16 miles), the latter renowned for its boutiques, food outlets and places to eat.

Set all on one level, this modern brick bungalow is designed as a comfortable base for relaxed getaways. Step into the lounge, light and airy thanks to its dual-aspect windows, to be greeted by a coal-effect electric fire in a classic-style surround. Sink into the soft sofas and your holiday has truly begun. Spend time chatting, reading, playing games or enjoying movies or shows on the Smart TV. When you start to feel hungry, preparing food is easy and practical in the kitchen/diner, with an air fryer and microwave to help, and there’s a table by the window for sociable mealtimes. If you don’t want to miss the news or some sport, there’s also a TV in this room. An adjacent utility is home to the washing machine – especially handy for longer stays or if you have children. When bedtime beckons, choose from the double room with ample storage or the pretty twin. They share a beautiful contemporary family bathroom, a relaxing space to refresh in, which features a large, walk-in shower and a separate bath.

A door from the utility leads to the wraparound garden, where there’s a large area of lawn as well as a furnished patio – perfect for wandering outside with a coffee in the mornings, or for enjoying an al fresco supper as the sun goes down. As an added bonus for keen horse riders, the owner has stables at the back of the house and you may, by prior arrangement with them, bring your own horse.
