"Very nice place located close to the center, but far enough away to avoid the noise. Rooms and other facilities are excellent and clean. Restaurant is good, only reason for lacking the last star is lazy and slow service by restaurant staff. Likely the best place to stay in montanita."

"The hotel is wonderful with beautiful surroundings and friendly and attentive staff. Rooms are nice and spacious though there is none to little isolation between the rooms and hallway. Their spa and surf lessons is not available on demand/< 1 day booking and their recommendations is worth checking before doing it/booking to ensure you get all the info/details. "Balsa Surf Camp is like staying with family! It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the location is nice and quiet within a very easy walk to town. For a surfing adventure, everything is at your fingertips and the team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the daily yoga, thank you to the wonderful instructor Darcy Lynch. I will visit Montanita again, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than Balsa. "
