In the winter, take the short five-mile drive to Mammoth Mountain for some skiing and snowboarding and terrain for all skill levels. In the summer, visit the surrounding lakes like Lake Mary (just over four-and-a-half miles) and Mono Lake (30 miles). Yosemite National Park is a great day trip and is beautiful no matter the season.
