Can't recommend
Hotel had a nice location overlooking the sea. However, that's the only positive that there is to say. Maintenance and cleaning seems non-existing. Everywhere there are warnings about water dripping from the roof, paint falling off, holes in walls and floor. Breakfast was not really worth the money. Lacy staff, etc etc....

Nice Stay
Ankom lidt sent 20.30 men hurtig check-in Køkken lukkede 20.45 men vi fik serveret mad med et smil Dejlig terrasse hvor vi kunne nyde udsigten over havet med en god hvid vin Hotellet er lidt nedslidt men ellers rigtig hyggeligt

This hotel was a last minute booking but we were so pleasantly surprised with the place! Staff were so nice and helpful and the food was amazing in the restaurant!!! Great breakfast options as well. Comfortable beds, nice big shower and fabulous view over the loch!!

My daughter upgraded us to a seaview and my gosh that made all the difference. The views of the water and beaches were fabulous. The hotel itself is a bit far from the actual town so we had to drive. Nadia, at the front desk , is a gem and we enjoyed our chats with her. The dining room is lovely and the food is good. The terrace is such a lovely place to sit out on and have a drink and enjoy the sunshine. Carrying luggage up 3 flights was a bit of a challenge but the room was quite lovely. Only downside really was the plug in near the mirror didnt work so trying to do one's hair was a challenge with a hairdryer/curling iron. They had the loveliest Scottish Soap . Very comfy beds. Staff in bar and in restaurant were also very nice.

Lovely hotel staff very warm people incredible Waterview beautiful quiet, small town quick access to the Mallaig ferry to go over to sky. It’s just six minutes away. Best chicken curry I had on my entire trip in Scotland.

This was a beautiful hotel! Our room was small, but very clean and comfortable with a renovated bathroom. We had a view of the water, and this was one of the best views we’ve ever seen. The hotel is up on a hill overlooking the river and bay and you can’t find a more idyllic setting. We ate dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and the food was incredible. It was the best meal we had out of 10 days in Scotland, by far!

We wanted to be in Morar so this was an easy and convenient choice. I had noticed low reviews but we were tired and also saw new ownership so wanted to be fair to them. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, and shower lovely. Bed was comfortable. Rooms are small and the wording is what throw me off “deluxe, superior…I can tell there has been some renovations done to help update. I’d like to see them put some deep cleaning on windows and furniture polished, lower the price a bit, rooms are small but have everything you need but are not superior, or deluxe! Lots of potential and I wish them well

Disappointed to arrive to a cold room. Heat should have been turned on in expectation of guest arrival. Room is in need of an update. Bathroom was somewhat updated with new flooring (wall tile did not coordinate with flooring), shower, heated towel rack which was hit or miss if it turned on. Shower drain cover was not secure. Water damage on ceiling in bathroom likely from a leaking roof. Chair leg was weak and wobbly. It was not made clear that you needed to order breakfast the night before. A simple note in the room could have ensure that this was communicated effectively. No one was in dining room at 7:30am so we helped ourselves to limited cold breakfast items available and were confronted by staff at 7:40am who wanted to charge us £13 each for what we had accessed. We ended up paying £13 together for the few items we took. No one was at front desk when leaving to leave keys with or feedback with. Overall, a very disappointing accommodation.

In a world increasingly filled with nice but cookie cutter hotels, the Morar Hotel is unique. It dates back to the early 1900’s. Staying here is like a trip back in time, from the heavy brass keys to unlock the rooms to the welcoming lobby with overstuffed furniture, to all of the staff eager to help. The food that we had in the hotel water view restaurant was some of the best that we had anywhere in the UK! Watching the sun set over the water and beaches below the hotel made it even better. Thank you to Tuan and Akram for making our stay here great!

Good value, stunning view
It was an impulse decision to stay at the Morar Hotel and I was glad I did. The sea view single I booked had everything you need, was comfortable and had a stunning view over the Silver sands. The room was good value for money. The restaurant was a little pricey but I suppose that's due to the location. Breakfast was extensive and tasty.

We understand that the hotel is under new management and they are in the process of major renovation. Our hotel stay was very enjoyable nd the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful bending over backwards to assist. The hotel is ideally situated with superb views of the estuary. The food on the whole was good and the serving staff very good particularly Tuan. Well worth a revisit.

Disappointing and expensive for what it is
Overall - disappointing Lovely staff & Nice old hotel, keeping ambience in reception Lovely views from restaurant Lost atmosphere from restaurant with refurbishment Tired and poorly kept general areas Food - tasteless expensive (how can a curry have no taste?) didn’t even put salt and pepper on table had to request to get some flavour, poor vegetarian choice Room - 16 - tiny and overlooking carpark. if had classified it as a small double and price reflected that then would understand. Looked like recently refurbished and clean but still Some mold growing in bathroom. Needs to review business model.

Room tired looking. Found pill on bedroom floor so housekeeping could be much better. Could do with a females touch with decor. Cold lighting, could do with a female influence with finishing touches. Very male dominated staffing. Saw no female employees.

2 night stay in Aug 2023
Had a 2 night stay at this hotel (we actually left after 1 night) and it was very disappointing. Hotel is very run down, nothing nice about it whatsoever other than the surrounding views. We paid extra for a “deluxe” room but it was tiny, no room to even walk round the bed, dampness on the wall with wallpaper and paint peeling off and dead moths in the bedside table. Food in the restaurant wasn’t good either even though they are charging a fair price for it, the restaurant was a bare room with some tables flung in, again nothing nice about it at all. Think the owners either need to reduce their prices to reflect the rundown state of the hotel or make a bit of effort freshen the place up.

Beautiful views from our rooms! Rooms were spotless if a bit dated, but great mattresses and shower. The restaurant was also fantastic, the dinner options were varied and every single one was delicious, compliments to the chef! Staff also super friendly and caring. Breakfast was good, standard for what we've found in other scottish hotels but a tad expensive as most other places had it included. My only criticism is that we had a 'corner' room that backed up onto what I assume was some sort of generator and there was a very loud hum/vibration for 10 mins every 5 mins or so throughout the night which made it impossible to sleep. I let the receptionist know who said they would get someone to have a look at it. Hopefully this gets fixed soon as it's was a shame in an otherwise great stay.
