The climatic health resort of Malchow



Built on an island between Lake Plauer See and Lake Fleesensee, Malchow with its almost 7000 inhabitants in the south of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern / Müritz district has been an officially recognized climatic health resort since 2005.



From the grounds, balconies and terraces of Villa Blanck, you have a wonderful view of the small island town on the other side of the lake and the 13th century monastery complex.



In 1863, the people of Malchow built a wooden swing bridge that connected the mainland with the island and allowed ships to pass through.

In 1912, it was replaced by a steel bridge with an electric motor.

The bridge is a registered technical monument and opens every hour on the hour to allow ships to pass.
