The pretty gardens, with mature trees, a large, curtained gazebo and private swimming pool will eat up many hours, but you will also want to linger over dinner around the large table in the splendid dining room. If you are not lucky enough to get the bedroom with the four-poster, you’ll find every room has something to recommend it – be that great views or lovely light and inviting places to curl up with a book. Writing desks also abound, perhaps because Casale Conte Jacopo lends itself to relaxed reflection. Sun-worshippers won’t be able to resist moving between the good-sized pool and romantic gazebo.
