Villa Dolce Vita With Private Pool, Lugano, Switzerland

An architecturally stunning villa high on the hillside with lovely mountain and lake views. This residence, with a private outdoor pool, certainly lives up to its name, Villa Dolce Vita. It is an excellent place to relax in nature and enjoy the magnificent scenery around Lake Lugano.

The villa can sleep 6 people, so is ideal for friends or family. It is luxuriously furnished inside and out, and invites guests to enjoy the terrace around the swimming pool, which acts as an extension of the interior living space.

The ground floor consists of a spacious living/dining area. An entire wall is made up of large glass doors which open directly onto the swimming pool terrace. This light-filled room is furnished with two large sofas, chic armchairs and a wooden dining table. The separate, ultra-modern, fitted kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer. There is also a dining table in the kitchen for more casual meals. Large sliding glass doors open onto a separate lawn.

The private outdoor pool, which is next to the living room, is surrounded by decking and there are sun loungers where guests can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. The shaded veranda next to the pool is furnished with attractive seating, ideal for sundowners or settling in with a good book. Next to this is another dining area for elegant meals al fresco.

Bedroom 1: An airy bedroom looking out over the mountains, furnished with an elegant wooden double bed, an additional single bed and an en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: This second bedroom has a more contemporary feel with a French double bed (1.4m wide), a laptop-friendly desk and a wardrobe.
Bedroom 3: A light-filled bedroom with 2 single beds and a wardrobe.

Bathroom 1: En suite to the larger bedroom, this stylish tiled bathroom has a glass shower, basin, and WC.
Bathroom 2: An independent bathroom appointed with a full bath with shower, basin, bidet and WC.
Extra: There is a separate WC with a basin on the ground floor.

Location
The villa is just 2 minutes from the centre of the charming village of Carona, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. This small town is a treasure trove of great architecture from the Middle Ages onwards. At the foot of Monte San Salvatore, there are many wonderful hiking routes starting from the town which lead out into peaceful woodland.

Lugano is only a 20-minute drive from the villa. The city hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. Here too you can find one of Switzerland’s most popular cultural centres, MASI (the Museum of Art Of Italian Switzerland) which hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions. Lugano is a good starting point to board a boat for a day out on the lake, to fully appreciate the scenery.

For self-catering, there are many excellent food shops in the city, as well as the farmers market on Tuesday and Friday in Via Carducci (20 minutes walk).

The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 50 minute journey.
