Petit Apartment Rony is a 35 square metre studio on the fourth floor of a historic 16th-century palace, at Via Fillungo 91, the main pedestrian street of Lucca's historic centre. Intimate style with character details: vintage terrazzo floors, warm beige palette, two windows with two iconic views, the Torre delle Ore from the dining area and the Torre Guinigi from the master bedroom. Accommodates 2 guests.

Bedroom and bathroom

Master bedroom with comfortable bed, bedside table with reading lamp, rattan chair, wardrobe. The window frames the Torre Guinigi: the most recognisable tower of Lucca, with seven centuries-old holm oaks in the hanging garden on top. Single bathroom in beige-pink marble tiles with shower cabin, WC, bidet, washbasin, shelving, window with natural light.

Kitchen and living area

Open-space living area with director's chairs in wood and white canvas, natural-fibre rug, TV. Dining table for two placed by the window with view of the Torre delle Ore and the red rooftops of the centre. Full equipped kitchen with four-burner gas hob, sink, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, white-tile backsplash, traditional moka pot and kettle.

Access, fourth floor, parking

Self check-in with key-box near the palace entrance. The apartment is on the fourth floor, about 75 historic steps, palace without elevator: not recommended for those with reduced mobility, we suggest travelling light. The apartment is in a limited traffic zone and pedestrian street: parking not included. Free at Piazzale Don Baroni (10 minutes' walk), paid in Piazza Santa Maria (2-3 minutes' walk) or at Parcheggio Mazzini (3-4 minutes' walk).

Location

Pedestrian heart of Lucca's historic centre. Within a few minutes' walk: 2 minutes Piazza San Michele and Taddeucci pastry shop, 4 minutes Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, 5 minutes Torre Guinigi and access to the city walls, 8 minutes Cathedral of San Martino. Lucca train station 15 minutes' walk. Pisa with airport 30 km, Florence 80 km (1h15 by direct train), Versilia and sea 25 km.

What to do nearby

Climb the Torre Guinigi and the Torre delle Ore, the only two medieval towers of Lucca to remain intact, both visible from your windows. Walk or cycle on the Renaissance walls at sunset, 4.22 kilometres of flat ring covered in an hour. Have dinner in Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, an elliptical square built on the second-century Roman amphitheatre. Try the buccellato of Lucca at Taddeucci. Explore the villas of Capannori, Montecarlo for wine, Pisa, Florence, the Cinque Terre.
