    . Dette virkelig storslåede famhouse ligger på kanten af den smukke Manifold Valley, berømt for sine kalkstensfugle og huler. Det ligger ved en gård, beliggende i et afsondret sted, og har en betagende udsigt over dalen. Meget godt møbleret og udstyret, dets historie er imponerende - dets datostensnål peger på bondegårdens oprindelse i 1810, men feltnavnsdokumenter når så langt tilbage som det 13. århundrede. Beliggende på kanten af ejernes arbejdsgård, køer og kalve besætninger sig over over hundrede acres landbrugsjord med en overflod af vilde dyr og gåture fra døren.

    Ved Wetton Mølle i Manifold Valley midt i et svimlende landskab, følger en cykelsti, lukket for trafik for det meste af sin rute, linjen med en smal sporjernbane (som løb fra århundredeskiftet indtil 1930'erne) og en floden i nogle syv miles - endda passerer den gamle jernbanetunnel. Cykeludlejning er tilgængelig lokalt. Ideel til at udforske Staffordshire og Derbyshire, Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, Dovedale, Carsington Water, The Potteries og Alton Towers ligger alle inden for 25 minutters kørsel. Butterton 1 km. Slagtere 1 km. Handle 7 miles.

Location Location

The cottage was situated in the most idyllic setting. A beautiful view from the rear of the property and the hot tub. The property was perfectly functional, maybe some updating would make this the most perfect retreat

I had the most beautiful experience in a remote town.

I had the most beautiful experience in a remote town. The property is surrounded with hills and nature, quiet and homely. We relaxed in the hot tub and all learned how to manage the wood fired maintenance. Everything I wanted for my 60th Birthday. We all walked to a local pub but mainly entertained ourselves with games, painting and socialising. Can only describe the place as perfect. Slight negative as one shower was cool. The kitchen had every utensil and more ! So homely. Thank you for making my special day even more special xx

Fabulous Character property in a beautiful location

Our group of friends stayed for a midweek break. Loved all the walks (local stroll to Butterton, then serious walking The Roaches and Manifold Way. Just sorry that the cycle hire places had closed down for the winter. Excellent meal at The Black Lion pub. The house is very well equipped and very comfortable. We'll be back!

Nice location, clean, kitchen has everything. Only one electric shower, the other one is in the bath tub(not electric).The electric shower has seen its days, needs replacing, poor pressure, water comes wither piping hot or stone cold. With just one shower for 12 people thus needs urgent replacement. Wasp nest right in the middle of sitting area amongst the stone blocks in the garden. Needs removing as discourages us using the garden patio which was really good.Hot tub good.No other issues. If electric shower replaced and wasp nest removed, it's a five star 🌟

The cottage was stunning and the views fantastic. Lovely walks from the farmhouse too. We had an excellent time there, we had a couple of issues which were quickly resolved by the owners.

We had an excellent time there, we had a couple of issues which were quickly resolved by the owners. Lovely remote location, with loads of walks right from the door, which is what we wanted! Due to Covid there was no information pack for local attractions, etc, so as we were unfamiliar with the area we were slightly in the dark! This cottage has the wow factor.

This cottage has the wow factor. As we took our first glimpse of each room, we were wowed, but that was nothing compared to our reaction when we first saw the view from the back garden. It took our breath away. This is a well equipped cottage making catering for 10 a pleasure. With big enough communal spaces for us all to have fun together, there was also space for each of us to chill and relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, feeling refreshed and relaxed having recharged our batteries in this wonderful setting. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We booked this for a family get together and it didn’t disappoint.

We booked this for a family get together and it didn’t disappoint. It’s in an out of the way location with fantastic views from the rear windows. The bath/shower rooms are very modern with a walk-in shower & the beds are comfortable. The kitchen has lots of crockery & the dishwasher is a bonus. The lounge is huge with 3 massive sofas & large screen tv, whereas the snug has a sofa & smaller tv & boxes of toys for young children to play with & there’s a dining room too. The large attached double garage is the games room. I expected that a large farmhouse would be cold, but quite the opposite! The central heating is pre set & it’s lovely & warm. We didn’t have to light a fire in the lounge. All in all, a very good place to stay ( there were 6 adults & 5 children in our group)

Amazing location helped by some superb September weather.

Amazing location helped by some superb September weather. A perfect cottage with everything we needed for a group of families with kids. Great spot for walking direct to the Manifold Cycle Trail/Thors Cave. The garden was like an "infinity" garden - with the end just blending into the beautiful valley across from the house.

A super week with all the family.

A super week with all the family. Plenty of room for 12. We all just about fit round the dining table. The kids loved having a separate TV room (so did the adults). Games room was used by all. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were put to good use! Beautiful bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Two showers and three toilets were plenty (no queueing or waiting). We had a bbq one day with extra visitors as it was one of the children's birthday. There was plenty of outside space and outside seats for everyone. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Fantastic house, amazing views.

Fantastic house, amazing views. 8 year old granddaughter loved every second of it. Village well worth a walk through, especially down to the Ford at the bottom of the hill. Locals love talking about their doubly thankful village. Best cottage yet!

The farmhouse was a brilliant place for a family get together and birthday celebration.

The farmhouse was a brilliant place for a family get together and birthday celebration. There are beautiful views all around and only a short walk or drive to the Manifold Valley. The cottage had everything we needed and was very warm and comfortable. It was not too posh however so we didn't have to be constantly on at the boys, aged 3 to 11, to be careful all the time. They spent most of their time in the large garden or separate play room, with pool, table tennis and darts to hand. The local pub was either closed or had very strange opening times, but there's a good selection of pubs a short drive away. We had an excellent meal at the Reform Inn about a fifteen minute drive from the farmhouse. Great atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon. All in all an excellent weekend with even the weather being kind to us.
