External Description



Historic villa built in the second half of the 19th century, located on the hills of Lastra a Signa, just 20 minutes from Florence.

Surrounded by 7 hectares of park with olive trees and vines, the villa boasts a well-kept garden with lawn and flowers, and a panoramic terrace with amazing views over the Tuscan countryside and the city of Florence with its Cathedral.

Among the outdoor spaces you will also find two gazebos used as lounge and dining areas (with table for 15 people), ideal for alfresco meals while admiring the surrounding landscape.

Moreover at guests' disposal a beautiful pool (10.6 x 5 meters), equipped with sun loungers and external shower with hot/cold water.

Near the pool area there are also 2 external bathrooms.



Internal Description



Spread over 3 floors (one of which is an attic), Villa Colomba is furnished in a typical-late-19th century-Tuscan-style with period furniture. It can accommodate up to 15 people for a total of 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Pets are allowed on request. The property has Internet Wifi. Air conditioning is only available in the dining room and in all bedrooms.

For any kind problems, two house keepers are at guests' disposal.



Ground floor: On the ground floor you will find a beautiful living area, consisting of: a large living room with sofas and fireplace, a dining room, a sitting room with sofas and tv. Following is a fully equipped kitchen with: hob, oven, 2 refrigerators, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster.

A toilet completes the floor.



First floor: The upper floor is dedicated to the sleeping area divided as follows: 1 suite with double bed and bathroom (with shower) and 3 double bedrooms. There are also two bathrooms (one with shower and the other with bathtub).



Attic floor: The attic floor houses: 1 twin bedroom (with two French beds), 1 single bedroom (with French bed), 1 double bedroom. Then you will find a room with a twin sofa bed (the sofa becomes 2 single beds when opened, it's on a mezzanine and not in a bedroom, it's recommended for children/kids, as adults may find it a bit uncomfortable).

Finally there is a bathroom with shower.

Included in the price: Utilities (water, gas and electricity except for heating); welcome basket; house, garden and pool maintenance.



Excluded from the price: Final cleaning (350.00€); linen change on request (100.00€); heating from October to May (500.00€ per week); transfer service from the airport; housekeeping service; other extra services on request.



Security deposit: Customers are required to pay 800,00€ security deposit upon arrival (cash), which will be returned at the end of the stay upon damages.

Family Vacation honoring beloved

This trip was put in place to honor a deceased family member. We all had wonderful memories of him. The trip was a lifetime memory and our host Dan made it superb. I cannot give all the details of how many ways Dan worked to make our trip a success but you need to know he is a gentleman and made every effort to make us feel at home and assist in every way. The villa is wonderful and we spent many hours around the gorgeous pool area. All of our meals were outside and we enjoyed the time. I must say the view was outstanding since we could see the Duomo in Florence and the evening lights in the valley were outstanding. Go to this villa if you have the opportunity and tell Dan we said thank you again for his kindness and service.

We had a wonderful stay here. It was made even better due to Dan, who lives on site and helped us out with groceries, recommendations, and transportation. The view is amazing! I would definitely stay here again.

Villa Colomba is an extraordinary rental steeped in over 170 years of family history. Nestled amidst 100 acres of olive trees, it offers a serene retreat high in the hills overlooking Florence with stunning views of the Duomo. The villa features spacious accommodations for over 15 people, beautiful patios for outdoor dining, and two kitchens, including a professional one for cooking classes. Its proximity—just 20 minutes from Florence by car or train—makes it perfect for exploring the city and nearby attractions like Lucca, Pisa, and San Gimignano. Outdoor amenities include a picturesque swimming pool, lounge areas, and an outdoor kitchen with views of Florence's twinkling lights. The onsite concierge, Dan, ensures a seamless stay, arranging everything from transportation to unforgettable dining experiences. Our recent stay included catered dinners, breakfasts, and a delightful cooking class by Lilianas.it, making it a truly memorable experience.

Perfect for families, great host

Villa Colomba lives up to the dream Tuscan vacation villa! This rustic century old villa is located in an olive grove high up on a hill, offering gorgeous views all the way to the city of Florence. At night the glittering lights of the city unfolds below, while the sky twinkles above. There is a beautiful outdoor dining area under a canopy of vines to enjoy the view. Our host Dan was amazing and made us feel right at home. We were a three-generation family of six. Per our request, Dan had done a great job stocking up the refrigerators with food, water and wine. He also had a delicious pasta dinner ready for us on arrival. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking by ourselves, and Lastra a Signa has wonderful restaurants, gelateria and a supermarket that Dan happily showed us around. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. With warm sunny weather, much of the day was spent at the well-appointed pool, with wonderful views, a pool bar, grill and cabanas on hand. The villa is ideally situated to explore the city of Florence and various parts of Tuscany. Siena, Cortona, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Maranello were within a couple of hours by car. It is very easy to park at the Lastra a Signa station and take the local train into Florence. The Google maps route from the station to the villa is narrower over the first half, avoid if possible and use Dan’s route. Dan lives on the premises and is always ready to help. We would highly recommend this villa!

What an incredible property, perfect for a families!

We honestly had the most amazing time at Villa Colomba. We were 12 members of the same family, 3 generations, from 5 to 66yrs. We were welcomed at the property with a Tomato Pasta lunch (organised with Dan beforehand) which was delicious and very much appreciated. There is so much room in this ‘home from home’ that you never feel like you’re on top of each other. Lovely air conditioned, spacious bedrooms (necessary with the gorgeous temperatures we had!) were cool and comfortable. 2 huge fridge freezers and plenty of space to eat inside or out. Now, the view….the pictures cannot do it justice - it is just incredible. For the first few days we just couldn’t get over how lucky we were. Sitting at night on the terrace with the lit pool in front of us, our own bar to the side, the twinkling lights from Lastra a Signa below and Florence in the distance. Absolutely stunning. Dan is on site if you ever need him, we didn’t get a hire car in the end (would probably recommend if possible) but he took us to the shops a couple of times so we could stock up on food a drink! He cooked a the tastiest Argentinian Steaks on the BBQ for us one evening, with lovely salads and this actually was one of our favourite evenings. He also dropped us to the station so we could catch the train to Florence. The distance to the station isn’t very far but it’s high up (remember those views!) and so we didn’t attempt the walk as it was just too hot. The outside area and pool were perfect - many games of family volleyball took place there! Lots of sun beds and sofas to make lazing in the sun very easy :) All in all a fabulous place to stay, we felt so at home and didn’t want to leave at the end of the week! We would happily return :)
