The long, narrow swimming pool is especially appealing for guests who enjoy starting the day with a few laps, while its tanning shelf offers a place to cool off without committing to a full swim. A shade structure and sun loungers make the fenced pool area equally suited to an afternoon spent doing very little.



Closer to the house, the six-person hot tub overlooks the surrounding desert landscape. It's an inviting place to unwind after exploring the area, especially as the mountains become silhouettes against the evening sky. A long row of connected hammocks offers another way to relax, whether you're reading, napping or simply taking in the quiet.



The covered patio provides a natural gathering place throughout the day, with comfortable lounge seating, an outdoor dining area and a propane BBQ for preparing meals together. There's also a smaller café-style seating area for a quiet moment outside.



Beyond the developed outdoor spaces, five acres of natural desert landscape preserve the property's open, expansive character. Mountain views stretch across the horizon, and minimal surrounding light pollution makes stargazing one of the simplest pleasures of staying here.

The main living area is bright, airy and refreshingly uncomplicated. Vaulted ceilings and large sliding glass doors bring in abundant natural light, while polished concrete floors and clean white walls provide a quiet backdrop for the home's distinctive furnishings.



A black leather sofa anchors the seating area, with thoughtfully selected pieces adding warmth and character. Above the nearby dining table, a playful arrangement of wall clocks provides an unexpected contrast to the otherwise restrained design.



Rather than centering the room around a television, Jiro West encourages guests to settle in with a book, pull out a board game or enjoy a conversation that lasts longer than planned. Open the sliding doors and the covered patio becomes a natural extension of the living space.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen is compact, functional and thoughtfully integrated into the home's open layout. A concrete countertop, stainless steel appliances, open shelving and warm wood accents continue the architectural character of the living area. An induction stove and cast iron cookware make it easy to prepare meals, with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a selection of spices provided.



The kitchen island offers seating on Nakashima-inspired wooden barstools, creating a comfortable spot to keep the cook company or enjoy a casual meal. Nearby, the indoor dining table provides additional seating, while sliding glass doors make it easy to carry food outside for dinner on the covered patio.



Coffee receives special attention here. Whole beans from Joshua Tree Coffee Co., a grinder, drip coffee maker and French press give guests a choice of brewing methods. Tea is also provided. Enjoy your first cup at the counter, beside the kitchen window overlooking the mountains, or outside in the morning air.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Jiro West accommodates up to four guests across two bedrooms, each furnished with a king-size bed. Both rooms embrace the home's understated design, with clean white walls, warm natural materials, comfortable bedding and large windows that frame the surrounding desert.



Each bedroom also includes a custom-built corner desk, making the home particularly well suited to guests who want to combine a getaway with a little remote work. Individual mini-split heating and air conditioning units allow guests to adjust the temperature in their rooms.



The bedrooms have their own decorative character, with woven textiles, natural wood details and a striking red striped wall hanging bringing color and texture to the otherwise minimalist interiors.



The home has one shared bathroom featuring a spacious walk-in shower, sage green tile, a window shelf and individual cube storage compartments for guests' belongings. A compact washer-dryer combination adds convenience for longer stays.



-Surrounding Area-

Landers offers a quieter, more open high desert experience, and Joshua Tree's West Entrance is within reach for hiking and rock formations. Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley have local cafes and small shops. Come back for the long sunset over the mountains and a sky with very little light to compete with the stars.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



Please note that the first two closets in the right bedroom, along with the Airstream, shipping container and loft area, are used for property supplies and are not accessible to guests.
