ON THE 3RD DAY OF OUR 5 DAY VACATION, THERE WAS A SCHEDULED, 12-HOUR POWER OUTAGE THAT WE HAD NOT BEEN TOLD OF. HAD WE KNOWN THIS, WE WOULD HAVE CANCELLED OUR STAY. OUR FIRST KNOWLEDGE OF THE OUTAGE OCCURRED AT 6AM ON THE 3RD DAY, WHEN THE COFFEE POT QUIT PERKING AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT, AS WELL AS THE A/C. WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON! MY 100-YEAR OLD FATHER WAS WITH US, WHICH, AFTER 12 HOURS OF NO A/C, WAS UNBEARABLE. WE WERE TOLD BY A NEIGHBOR THAT POWER WAS TO RETURN AT 6PM, SO WE EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO COOK DINNER. IT ENDED UP NOT BEING RESTORED UNTIL 9:30PM, HOURS AFTER DARKNESS, AND NO FLASHLIGHT COULD BE FOUND IN THE HOUSE. MY FATHER WAS CONFUSED AND UPSET, TO SAY THE LEAST, AS WERE WE. WE COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING OR EVEN MOVE ABOUT THE HOUSE IN TOTAL DARKNESS! WE HAD BEEN COMMUNICATING WITH SPIRIT VACATION HOMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY BUT WERE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR US. NEIGHBORS WERE USING GENERATORS, BUT OUR RENTAL DIDN'T HAVE ONE.
SPIRIT DID NOTHING AT ALL FOR US!! WE LEFT THE FOLLOWING MORNING IN DISGUST AND HAVE ASKED FOR A FULL REFUND FOR OUR 4 DAYS THERE, BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING AT ALL!
