"Room was spacious and staff was kind, if inattentive. Main issue was the smell, the bathroom reeked of mildew to the point where it was almost impossible to use it, as well as having obvious mold on the grout in the tiles. With this being the case of the cleanliness of the bathroom we ended up having to buy sheets to put over the bed as there were stains of unknown origin on the bed and curtains. If we hadn't prepared for 3 nights we wouldn't have stayed even 1."

"Very nice boutique hotel with colonial feel, fantastic views from top floor check'in / lounge area / bar (with outdoor terrace) / breakfast restaurant, great rooms with 2 large beds and nice bathroom / toilet. My favorite hotel in Kobe - and I have tried many 3-5 star hotels in this area. Only drawback - no swimming pool. Everything else - great!"

The staff is very kind, warm and attentive, I was able to chat with many residents, each one nicer than the next. We had the half board, and really enjoyed our meals. We also booked the private onsen for a fee, which was nice. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants tro try a traditional japanese hot spring ryokan."
