OCEANFRONT@ The Lucky Duck- 100% renovated, clean, cozy & well-appointed.

Our place is a super bright, incredibly clean, excellently appointed oceanfront condo with a view you are sure to love! Literally, a 2 minute walk to the beach! This new rental property will be your "go-to" favorite annual trip location. We really wanted to make sure everyone enjoys our special place as much as we do! Enjoy lazy days on the beach and at the pool, drinks on the deck, and exploring the quaint town of Duck. And BYOC (bring your own charcoal) for a nightly cook out in the courtyard area. So much FUN! We know you'll love Colony by the Sea (CBTS) as much as we do. It's a true gem in the Outer Banks! Ours is a first floor, end unit: no elevator, 2 short flights of stairs (building on pilings). We love to cook and entertain so we have a well-stocked kitchen, including basic spices, EVOO, balsamic vinegar and just about every utensil and baking/cooking tool we could think of. BRING YOUR OWN: paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, towels (bath/beach/dish), sheets, pillows, and blankets. There is a coin laundry room for $2 per load (same for wash or dry) under the building if needed (it is kept very clean). TV sets in living room and bedroom with basic cable and streaming capability.

Hvad ligger i nærheden?

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. There are not enough superlatives to describe our weekend stay at the Lucky Duck! The condo was immaculate, very cozy, perfectly appointed, and Tracey and Dave were consummate hosts. It was our anniversary and they treated us like royalty…. but I’m sure they make all of their guests feel that way. We are already planning our next visit. What are you waiting for…. book a stay at the Lucky Duck!! You will be very glad you did.

Great find!

From the minute we booked we knew that Tracey and David were fantastic hosts! They were quick to respond to any questions and communications were timely and clear. We were able to arrive early before check in time and Tracey graciously gave us early access to the condo. The condo was incredibly clean and very well stocked. We enjoyed sitting on the deck morning and evenings. The beach was an easy 2 minute walk so it was no problem to go back and forth to the condo if needed. One of the things we liked the best was the short walk into town…..it was only about a 10-15 minute walk! Tracey and David really made an impression on us- they were so kind and down to earth - it made everything about our stay run smoothly!

We had a fantastic stay at this beachfront condo in Duck, NC. The location is unbeatable and there is direct beach access just steps away. The condo itself was well-maintained and clean, making it a comfortable home base for our vacation. The kitchen was a standout—exceptionally organized, with everything neatly arranged and well-stocked with all the essentials, from cookware to utensils, making meal prep a breeze. The place is exactly as described by the owners and photographs are accurate. Overall, this condo met our expectations, blending coastal charm with practical amenities for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

Tracey was wonderful to communicate with. She graciously allowed us an early check-in as we were traveling with our one year old. The condo, beach, and pool were magnificent. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with pots, pans, knives, dishes, tupperware that were actually enjoyable to cook with and use. It felt like staying in a well taken care of home, not a rental unit. It would be a no brainer for us to stay here again if we return to OBX in the future.

Just like home

This was our second time staying at The Lucky Duck. Its perfect for our family with it being oceanfront, having a pool and being on the first level. Both times we arrived to a nice clean condo. Air condition works great and we were so thankful with it being 90 degrees outside. Last but not least, the king bed was SO comfortable! We will be back hopefully next year!

We absolutely loved our week at the Lucky Duck and we didn’t want to leave! We have stayed at other condos in Colony by the Sea, but the Lucky Duck is by far our favorite! We are already planning to stay here again next summer. Tracey was awesome with her communication and providing details about the condo. It was so great to be able to check in early and make it to the beach on the first day. The condo is very well-stocked and it was super clean. Our toddler loved eating breakfast at the kitchen breakfast bar. We ate dinner outside on the balcony every night with the great view of the beach and the pool. It was absolutely perfect; thank you, Tracey and David, for sharing your beautiful condo!

Relaxing and Refreshing

The Lucky Duck is clean, comfortable and conveniently located for walks on the beach, boardwalk and into town. The beach is beautiful and was relatively uncrowded the week we went. We had great weather and enjoyed our stay!

Loved the Lucky Duck

The VRBO process is very efficient. We were able to review all of the properties and even though we had not been to the outer banks before we were able to make an informed decision where to stay. The property we chose turned out to be a good fit. It is very clean and well decorated. It was provided with all of the needed kitchen stuff and was very comfortable. Communiation from the owners was excellent and made the renting process easy.

Spring Break

Love the area & decided to head back for a spring break mini-vacation. Location & property both exceeded expectations. Property is perfect for a small family. Very clean with great views. Property owner kept great contact to make sure we were taken care of & had the best experience possible. We don’t head to the OBX area much anymore, but next time we do we will definitely attempt to stay at the Lucky Duck again!!!

Recharging

This place was perfect for some get-away time for my daughter, daughter-in-law and myself. Being young mothers they needed some time and space to recharge. This place was ideal. Short walk to beach. Shopping and dinning close by. This place was beautiful and efficient in every way. The host was exceeded all expectations with information on accommodations and recommendations of the area. Will definitely be at top of list for future stays

Spring Duck Getaway!

My wife and I had a lovely time in Duck and your place was perfect for us. We used the well-stocked kitchen for a few great dinners (fresh fish!). We also enjoyed happy hour on the deck with the ever changing coastal colors. Very convenient to the beach for long walks and close to Duck village. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfy condo with a view

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Lucky Duck and had the most fabulous time. The condo is comfortable and clean with a nice view of the ocean from the deck. It is an easy walk to the beach. Tracey provided beach chairs and an umbrella that were in great condition. The condo is close to the main shops and several great restaurants . We were able to ride our bikes and leave the car at the condo. We would surely return.

Beachin good time

Took our brand new Jeep to the beach. Love the location of The Lucky Duck. Close to all. Enjoyed our visitor “Sparky the cat” would visit us each day. Saw lighthouses, The Wright Brothers monument, shopping and plenty of great restaurants. Also so relaxing just chilling on the deck at the condo. Great commication with the hosts.
