80th Birthday celebration
What an amazing property! We had a fantastic family weekend. It has everything that you would need and is furnished high end. It was exceptionally clean. Sandra called before our arrival and was very friendly, letting us know she was always available should we need anything. Would definitely recommend booking Avril the chef. Food was amazing and it really made our last night extra special. 10* out of 10*

Beautiful House
Great House for family gatherings! Well equipped and good communication with owners. Clean and swimming poo was fabulous. I would suggest that unless the family are very close the bedrooms in the windmill are not suitable : as little privacy . The rest of the house a joy, well lived in, but cosy .

Great Staycation!
We loved our stay at the windmill! Everything we needed was provided and we stayed on property the whole time. Pool was great, games were on point, and everyone had something to do. No one ever said, “I’m bored!” Looking forward to returning next year!

Amazing property!!
Property was beautiful - loved all the original features from the old windmill and the tower is so special - so many talking points. Pool was amazing and lovely and warm - kids (big and small) loved it. Loads of room for everyone in the house and very comfy. Hosts were lovely and communication was great - if you want a memorable trip, definitely book this property 😍😍

Perfect venue for our family get together
The Windmill was the perfect venue for our family get together. Lots of space for everyone, quirky rooms in the tower for the children, lovely bathrooms with reliable hot water, and a fabulous kitchen with everything we needed. We especially valued the fact that the games room was well resourced with good quality equipment. The pool was a highlight, and there were plenty of lovely clean towels. Only down side was that some repair is needed to some windows that let in water during the few heavy rain showers we experienced.

Perfect get away for a family do or a Hen party type occasion
The property is beautiful. The photos don’t do it justice. We had 15 people staying here and there is so much room. We didn’t really leave the kitchen area though to be fair but there is so much space you won’t get on top of each other. I could easily do a weeks get away here. Was so nice.

Luxurious group getaway
We stayed as a big group for 5 nights celebrating a 30th birthday. Everyone was very impressed with the place which was clean, modern, warm and luxurious. We made great use of the games room playing pool and table tennis. The kitchen was well equipped for a big group. We used the log burner everyday. Great big bathrooms with plenty of towels. Comfy sofas with boardgame and a wii console. We loved using the banqueting room for our evening meals. Slight downside was the top bedroom of the windmill was cold and damp so people slept in the living room instead. The master bedroom looks stunning but has no door separating the upstairs and downstairs so its hard to sleep without ear plugs and an eye mask. Having said that, overall its a great experience and gorgeous accommodationwhich we would absolutely recommend.

Beautiful property
The property is spacious and quirky with some lovely features. The different rooms enabled our group of 15 to spread out or gather together, especially in the kitchen area. Unfortunately the top bedroom in the mill was extremely damp when we stayed in December and so two of our group ended up sleeping in one of the lounges downstairs. I’m sure this would not be a problem in warmer weather but perhaps needs consideration when renting out to large groups in cold weather.

Fantastic weekend we will remember forever
This property is STUNNING! It’s well appointed with everything you need, pool was heated to a lovely temperature and honestly we wouldn’t change a thing. We are already talking about booking again next year!

This is a beautiful property, we really enjoyed our stay. However make sure you are comfortable with your roommates in the turrets as you can talk to each other like your in bunk beds (which also is a lot of fun!)

Lovely place to stay
We booked this property for a family weekend break over the bank holiday and it was a great place to stay. We paid for the pool to be heated and so glad we did as the kids loved it in there, they also loved the games room. The downstairs living area was nice and relaxing, kitchen was nice and big and had everything we needed. If you do book this property for 15 people just bear in mind that the stairs do get a bit tiring for the people sleeping at the top. The viewing area from the top were stunning. A lovely place to stay and we had no issues while we were there.

The most beautiful property, in a lovely little village. Sandra & Gary were the most patient, incredible hosts. Due to issues we had during the COVID-19 pandemic which led to cancelled/rescheduled bookings over a 2.5 year period, their communication was superb. Highly recommend staying here, beautiful property, great hosts…great memories are to be had here. Thank you Sandra & Gary 😃

Old Mill Converted Windmill
Beautiful property, but very open and lots of stairs with younger children. Very late check in 4pm (lose a day), early check out 10am! Information received re WiFi, bins etc was all incorrect. States pool is heated April to October then asked to pay £40 per day. Leak in ceiling from bathroom in main house.

Hello Sandra and thank you for your review of The Old Mill. Reviews are helpful as they keep us all on our toes. I worry however that yours suggests that our adverts are in some way not transparent. Our advert states that the outdoor pool is OPEN from April to October, but it does then list in 4 separate places that there is an option to have it heated and the associated optional cost. Heating the pool, especially in the current energy climate, is an extraordinary cost to our business and, as many of our guests prefer a cooler pool, we think this is a fairer way of apportioning the cost. Norfolk county council did change the bin collection day for our area, just prior to your arrival and I understand that this made the information I sent you several months ago obsolete, however, you may remember that we informed you of this change (and the new WiFi details) on your arrival to the property. I hope neither caused too much inconvenience. Thank you also for letting us know about the leak after your departure, a pipe had come loose under the bath in the main house and thankfully it was a quick and easy fix for our maintenance team. Regarding check in and out times, these are standard for most large holiday homes. They allow for ventilating, cleaning and now fully sanitising the house between each stay. We are acutely conscious of the need to keep our lovely guests, many of whom are grandparents, elderly and/or vulnerable and our cleaners (who are the mainstay of our business) as safe as possible whilst they are in our care and are loathe to omit any of these recommended steps just yet. The tower portion of the property is 7 story’s high so yes does have a lot of steps( I’m sure the cleaners would love a lift), so that is why we do not recommend very young children are allowed in the tower portion of the house unaccompanied and have placed doors internally to prevent this from happening. You may remember I explained this to you at length prior to you making your booking. Once again thank you for your comments and it was lovely to have had you at the windmill.

Great social space, beautiful house
We had a wonderful time at the windmill. It is a beautiful hose and well-equipped for a group. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained with the games room, pool & trampoline. The only downside was that some rooms are quite open, so can be noisy.

Great family location
Lovely few days unwinding with our large family. Some nice little local walks to complete for when we weren’t just playing in the pool. The top of the mill provided great views and thoroughly advise watching the sunset from up top.

Amazing birthday trip away!!
This place is amazing!! The first thing we did was run up all the stairs to the top of the windmill to see the beautiful view!! So much space and so many options for where to eat/chill/play. Sandra was very welcoming to our needs and made everything very easy. Would love to come back in the summer and use the pool as it looks great, but still a great place for the winter too with the log fire!!

I am not sure where to start. All I can say is that if you are considering treating yourself or a loved one to a UK holiday then look no further. The Old Mill is amazing. We went as a family of 6 and there was more room than we could ever need. Everything was spotless and Sandra the host was always on hand should you need to ask a question. We would love to come back next year and make use of the pool and games room in the summer. The level of workmanship that has gone into restoring the Mill is unbelievable when you look back at the pictures of the derelict old mill back in the day you will see what I mean. 10/10 for everything, thanks very much to you both for a first class break.

30th Birthday Weekend
What a house!! The pictures do not do this property justice! Exactly what we were looking for to enjoy my wife’s 30th Birthday. The open plan kitchen/ dining room was perfect for a party. The cozy living room was great for retreating later and playing games in front of the fire. We hired a private chef for the Saturday night and the formal dining table in the windmill was absolutely perfect for this and made the experience very special. The outdoor area was also spacious to allow us to hire a hot tub. Sandra was amazing in the build up to us coming helping out with any questions I had and more than happy to help. Thank you so much for an amazing property, I would highly recommend!!

Not a bad stay at all! Had a lovely time with the family and friends, they all really chilled out on our stay. Living room and kitchen are lovely social areas and the bedrooms are good. Weren't too keen on staying in the mill unfortunately, there is quite a lack of privacy in the mill so it can be a little bit intrusive staying in there and needing some adjustment. If you're planning to go with just friends it may not be as invading. The owners were very accommodating and did their best to be of assistance from the start to the end. We had a slight issue with the kettle being HEAVILY lime-scaled when we arrived so for a day or 2 we were manually boiling water for our use but one of the owners delivered a remover and were very nice about the situation. The bathrooms do only come with 2 rolls of tissue paper which left us feeling a little bit underwhelmed because that meant we had to go to Tesco's for bits and bobs. They have GREAT rules for dogs being only allowed on the first floor, they have a backdoor railing so they don't run out and the space is more than ideal for them to enjoy themselves too. All in all, I'd rate the stay about a 4/6. Worth noting, the internet IS REALLY slow so if you are thinking of doing stuff online you're best to come with data. The TV also had very limited channels. Sandra was very friendly however and we did enjoy our stay. Thank you to the hosts for their hospitality, I hope some of the points above might be useful to yourselves too :).

We had a great family break. A unique experience. Many original features of the windmill have been retained whilst being converted to a high standard.. The owners were unobtrusive but kept us well informed and we felt confident that they were available to sort any issues should they have arisen.

A Long Overdue Family Break
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days at Stoke Ferry Windmill. Sandra was very accommodating and quick to respond to messages. There are plenty of activities to keep families entertained ie/ pool and games room and also ample space for large families to eat together at the table which was lovely after not being able to see each other for so long. The building itself is stunning, with lovely views from the top of the tower. We would absolutely recommend!

great getaway.
This is a unique property which has excellent facilities. The dining and breakfast rooms are great with ample seating. The huge kitchen area forms part of the breakfast area. The outside area is very spacious with a pool which is well worth having heated. overall we all had a great and memorable weekend. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Great weekend

A charming property with amazing views
Our experience of renting this property from Sandra was smooth from start to finish. The old mill and main house is so so impressive, all the finishing touches are spot on and the space is really well thought out. The caterers she recommended were also brilliant and really added a special touch to our stay. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to with different groups of your family/friends.

Great family get together
In one word Wow. Front door opens onto a massive open plan kitchen dining area. From there the exploration of rooms just gets better and better with the inevitable climb up the tower. Garden, pool and games room we're all excellent with hours spent in the lovely heated pool. All helped of course with lovely warm sunny weather.

Just the perfect place to stay!
We had the best time at The Old Mill. It’s the most beautiful building, we used every room! The communication from Sandra was great, completely contactless and online guides and information was such a great idea too. We had a mixed group of ages from 8 to 83 and had read reviews about the rooms being open/no privacy. This wasn’t a problem for us at all! There is something for everyone here and a space to feel comfortable for someone of any age. Although we were very lucky with amazing weather, we still had the pool heated for our stay and would 100% recommend this, it makes the pool enjoyable at all times of day and we really did make the most of it! The gardens are also beautiful and our dog Sid loved the space and had enjoyed his stay with us too. The kitchen is so well equipped, and the beds/rooms are very comfy - even inside the windmill, great experience too! Couldn’t have asked for a better setting for a much needed family reunion, we also cannot wait to visit again soon!

Incredible getaway
The Old Mill is magical. We had a brilliant weekend here to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Sadly, our plans for a big party were curtailed by the pandemic but this getaway more than made up for any disappointment. The Old Mill is perfectly appointed with everything one might need. Its thoughtful design is impressive and the beds and bedding are phenomenally comfortable! We made great use of the well-appointed kitchen, and the fireplaces and my husband particularly loved the heated pool. The pool table and games room were also a hit. We didn't want to leave, had a terrific experience and cant wait to return, hopefully next time with many more friends! Sandra is an excellent host and really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Five stars all round.

Very nice accomodation, everything you needed was provided, only thing i would say is not much privacy but it was all family so not a problem and you are advised this in the accomodation details. Pool was lovely and warm, plenty of towels provided and games room was good. All in all a lovely break away with the family
