Pack your hiking boots and conquer the summit of the nearby Wainwrights Latrigg (1.5 miles), Catbells (4 miles) and Skiddaw (5 miles). Whinlatter Forest (4.5 miles) puts the mountain back into biking, with climbs to breathtaking vistas and rewarding descents, the trails are perfect for those searching for their next adrenaline hit. Enjoy a day out to the Lake District Wildlife Park (9 miles); from zebras to eagles, there is something for all the family.

Enter the shared three-storey building, set in a pretty courtyard, head through the shared entrance hall and ascend the steps to the second floor which leads to the communal landing and covered passage.
