I picked this hotel due to the proximity to stores and restaurants and my experience with Sandman Hotels has been lovely.
The hotel itself is run down and the carpets in the hallway looked damp and dirty at the same time with a mildew smell.
I got in my room and the shower and tub were dirty. The tiles had that black dirt in the grout and i had to wear flip flops while showering cuz i couldn’t bear to touch the tub.
I boiled water using the kettle and at the spout i found what looked like dog/cat hair.
The coffee bar area looked like it hasn’t been wiped and the “clean” cups are had the dirty cover papers on them.
The sink drained so slowly it seemed like it was clogged
The free shampoo looked like it’s been used. You can tell that someone’s opened it cuz there’s dry product all over the packaging.
I’ve stayed at other sandman before and i have never seen them like this.
The one in Edmonton almost has 5 star amenities.
I didn’t bother calling as the rest of the hotel looked like it’ll be the same state in every room and i had a long journey.
I haven’t been in a hotel where i was scared to touch anything. I had to get Lysol wipes to wife surfaces.
