The best hotel at the corner of Thamel, Kathmandu

Hi, my name is Dhan. I booked this hotel through hotels.com & had some reservation about it because I didn't know that much about this hotel ( Kathmandu Mantra). When I went there, OMG, I couldn't believe it. The hotel is brand new, managers/ owners(2 Young gentlemen) gave me very good reception. They are very polite, friendly & energetic. When I saw my room, I am over the moon. The room was nicely layed out (double bed), ammaculately cleaned, LCD TV, double door nice wardrobe, cleaned private bathroom with hot water shower & on top of that it had wall mounted air condition. I had very relaxed & comfortable night. Next day I told my friend who is from London & staying at Hotel Manang, few hundred yards away. She came & checked the other room & booked same size room straight away for 2 nights & moved in the same afternoon. After her stay, she told me that she booked the room before heading to Pokhara for another 3 nights on her returned & before flying out to UK. She paid in full because she does not want to loose it. 3 more friends booked rooms there on the same week & more are going a week later. Overall, I had very relaxed & pleasant stay there. I will defiantly go back again & advise anyone without any doubt. This is the best hotel in Thamel over my 10 years experience. This hotel is the best in Value for money & it deserves every single penny.

A good place to stay, not the most comfortable one

A good location especially for those who are taking a morning tourist bus to Pokhara: it takes 5 mins to walk from the hotel to the tourist bus station. Good service: they helped me to get a bus ticket to Pokhara. Since I had to leave before 7 (before breakfast time) they prepared me a toast and fried egg. Cleanliness is ok: there were some old stains in bed sheets. Shower was quite good: there was hot water and pressure was good enough.

Excellent stay!!!!

Just a follow-up review on my previous review on my one-night stay before spending my weekend in Pokhara - the hotel was overbooked and they arranged for me to stay in another hotel owned by the same owner. After my stay in Pokhara, I finally got to stay in this hotel and can provide an actual review on this hotel. My experience is excellent! I booked the Deluxe Twin Room - the room looks exactly the same as shown in the photo. The room is spacious and clean, have been having hot showers the past 20 nights with their electric water heater (can even be scorching hot if you want it!), AC working perfectly, no flies in the bathroom... This hotel definitely is comparable to the 3-star hotel I have stayed in Pokhara. The staff here is also very friendly and helpful. Made me feel at home every morning and evening! Learnt a lot of Nepali from them! Definitely recommend every one to stay here as it is definitely worth the price!

妥当なホテルの値段です。ただ、最初にホテルの予約をお知らせすると準備してなかったので、一回は違うホテルに案内して泊まる事がありました。スタッフの対応も良くて、色々相談にのってくれます。

Overbooked

The place was overbooked so we were asked to stay at another “hotel” nearby. But the room was not in a good condition: there were holes on the wooden floor, and no hot water supply. Luckily the weather allows a ice cold shower as an alternative cooling method. Both the pillow and the mattress were on the extremely soft side. So we did not have a restful and comfortable stay. Nonetheless, the service was outstanding - we checked in late due to delay in flight and had to set off early for Pokhara, yet the staffs were welcoming and accommodated our requests. But this might not be a fair review, as I did not actually stay in Kathmand Mantra Home. I also booked this place for the coming month, and will submit my review afterwards!

The property was amazing, whether in terms of location or the services. The team at hotel were ready to help us in all possible ways. The hospitality that you get for money what you pay, no other hotel can beat that in that area. I wish to stay with same guys in near future.

The staff at this property really make your stay great. They go above and beyond to help you! The rooms are comfortable and for the price it can't be beat. The breakfast is also excellent. 10/10 would recommend this hotel to fellow budget travelers.

Great value, wonderful staff

My third time staying here. Staff is tremendous, helpful and friendly my Nice breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Rooms have plenty of space, no daily room service, hot water was good as was the water pressure. Can be a bit noisy at night when shops close their roll down metal does and in the morning when they open up. Back rooms are quieter but you'll still hear the stray dogs barking during the night (I swear that one of them is there SAME dog who was there 2 years ago!). The staff can arrange trips from Kathmandu as well as airport transport which they did for me which avoids the ambiguity of taxi pricing as the hotel charges a fixed price and you pay the hotel. Location is in Thamel on a slightly less chaotic street meat many shops and restaurants. Incredible

Nice place, good location, great staff

Staff was great. Location in the Thamel district is central near lots of shops and restaurants. Breakfast is good with eggs comes to order. A great value. Rooms in the back are somewhat quieter.

Nice hotel

Rooms are large and well equipped but in need of updating. Staff seemed confused but manager was very efficient. Be early for breakfast coz it's not replenished.

Amazing location and staff

This hotel is in a great spot in the middle of Thamel, meaning all shops and restaurants are within a few metres of the doorstep. Having said that, it is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle to ensure a quiets night sleep. Room was spotless and great value for money and staff were amazing too. So good that we have booked to stay here again for our return to Kathmandu

Khatmandhu Hotel Mantra

The staff were brilliant; helpful, kind, went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The facilities were good, clean and the shower had hot water. In a good location in the centre with easy access to everywhere.

数回宿泊しました。部屋によって当たりはずれがありますが、タメルのこの価格帯のホテルの中では、清潔で過ごしやすいホテルだと思います。 ほかの部屋や廊下の音が響いて早朝チェックアウトする人の物音で起こされたり、立地があまりよくない、などの問題点はありますが、部屋の状態や水回りがきれいで、すぐにホットシャワーが出る点はとても良いと思います。ベッドも過不足ありません。Wi-Fiも比較的安定しています。 ただ大荷物だと、ホテルの前の道は移動が大変かもしれません。

Perfect!!!

So good in perfect location, everything is around; shops, restaurants and other tourist attractions. Reception staff is friendly and helpful, soon I book hotel whey arrange airport meet and transfer, also have tour desk what you can book bus tickets and all of tours. As I on budget travel I was checking costs online and around and find all trekkings best to book with whem. Was good experience with Mantra home.

A good budget hotel

The hotel offers good value for the price of the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful overall. We had a couple of problems: 1) the wiring of the rooms and the reception was not done well, so our electronic devices could not charge properly; 2) it was a bit loud because of the constant construction near the hotel. I thought that the room was a bit damp, but my husband didn't notice it, so it might be just me. Overall, if you are staying in Thamel for a short time, it is a nice budget hotel with friendly staff and nice breakfast. The location is great - center of Thamel.

Good hotel in the heart of Thamel

The hotel is situated in the heart of Thamel shopping streets and moments away from restaurants and all amenities you'll need. The staff was very nice and helpful and the rooms are new and very comfortable.
