If you're going to the Royals game at Kauffman Stadium, and possibly the Chiefs game, this looks to be your best bet for walking to the Stadium. The hotel is dated, but clean, and boasts a free breakfast. The 15 minute walk isn't too bad (assuming you're able to walk up/down a fan created dirty path on a grassy hill) since you'll be back to the hotel before most people get out of the parking lot.
That said, if you check in on a game day, expect a lot of delays. The staff tried, but they weren't set up for success with the way people are checked in or how efficiently the computers worked. As frustrating as it was, I felt bad for the staff who patiently had to deal with a lot of things outside of their control, including annoyed guests.
