"The hosts are very kind and considerate and we had a nice stay in a traditional Japanese style room with very authentic Japanese meals for dinner and breakfast. The hotel is perhaps a little dated but it added to the charm and it is very clean. We didn’t get to try the outdoor onsen as we had hoped as we were put off but a large spider other guests alerted us to. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay."

I was a short walk from everything I needed and wanted to see, with great restaurants and bars. I had a wonderful night's sleep and the breakfast in the morning was very good. "We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones.
