Relaxing and away from the crowd

We had a wonderful time at Kahana Reef. Every evening was a relaxing time, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sunset. It was nice to come back after a day of touring the island to our comfortable and quiet place at Kahana Reef.

Kahana Reef Maui paradise

Wonderful experience here with our stay. Priced appropriately, given size, ammenities, and location. Patio off the living room, with views of ocean, islands and water front were amazing and where my wife and I spent most of our time when home. Bed was comfortable, place was clean, and provided a great home base during our visit to Maui. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Location was amazing.

This property is in a perfect location. 20 feet from the ocean. We left owner with a few recommendations for updating and improving the unit, minor stuff, but we would go back in a heartbeat. You won’t be disappointed. Location, location, location.

Great Location

This was a great condo for our stay on Maui - wonderful location and such a beautiful view!!Management was very communicative before our arrival - they even called to make sure we had received some importan information prior to our stay. The condo was clean, well stocked, and we enjoyed the community grill being so close to the unit - we used it multiple times. Very comfortable pool to relax in during the evenings. The location was very convienent to everything we wanted to do!2 things would have made our stay a 5 star rating - the portable ac unit never cooled below 86 degrees - the bedroom got a nice breeze with it's windows open at night to make sleeping more comfortable. Darker window shades in the bedroom would help with the exterior lighting coming in. We look forward to our next visit!

You cannot find a better spot!

Unique spot right on the water with turtles near the shore! Very well équiped apartment with all you need, including cooler, chairs, foil and soaps for everything. Very confy. We talked to neighbours to find out where the laundry was.excellent rental for West Maui!

We loved our stay here! Loved the view and proximity to the water. Loved that beach chairs were provided. Loved the Ohana of Honu who feed daily on the ocean wall. Loved snorkeling right off our small beach area to see the Honu up close. Loved the Old Hawaii vibe of Kahana Reef. Things we would change: we expected the kitchen to have basic condiments in the fridge-we had to buy and leave, so hopefully those stay for the next guest. We would have loved a rug by the lanai door-we ended up using towels to try to keep the dirt from the lanai outside. The AC unit in the living room was appreciated but it’s really not enough to cool off the bedroom, even with every fan available running constantly.

Perfect Getaway!

My husband and I truly enjoyed out stay! It was so great to wake up every morning and enjoy breakfast on the patio and listen to the ocean. We saw many sea turtles right out our door. It was great to have a kitchen. We loved that there were beach chairs, a beach umbrella and beach towels for us to use. We also really appreciated the two fans in the bedroom and the air conditioner in the main living space. Thank you for a great stay!

Little Paradise

This was our third time staying there. We love it, and have made many friends in the area. The ocean is right there, and you can see the turtles popping up for air right out your window. You can also the see the whales in the distance in the winter months. It is within walking distance to a Whaler's store, (convenience store) if you're okay without a side walk, and close to restaurants and a few shops. Not the best place for kids, we would say it's more suited to adults, due to no railing on the sea wall.

Beautiful location

Lovely location. Convenient to Kapalua, Lahaina and Kaanapali. Can walk to places to eat. It’s that the AC in a unit in the living area and the bedroom doesn’t have AC. Ceiling fans and opening windows at night did the trick.

Great value

No complaints for what it cost. Location is great. View is spectacular. Very quiet. On the downside, the bathroom needs a lot of work and the louevred windows need repair. The place could also use a deep clean, a new couch, and pillows that aren't all extra firm. If they also add actuall AC rather than a swamp cooler and a dozen fans, they could probably charge more.

Fantastic Location

We had a great stay at the property. The location is fantastic and views were incredible. Watching the sunset every evening from the comfort of the patio was the highlight of our trip. Our only qualm was that the listing stated there was AC, but there was only a portable unit in the living room that couldn't be felt if you weren't within 10 feet of the machine. All of the fans were nice to have but the bedroom was warm as we stayed during the month of July. I would recommend either putting an AC unit in the bedroom or changing the description. Thanks for a great stay, host was incredibly responsive. We would come back!!

Maui Kahana Reef

This is the second time we’ve stayed in this pretty and clean ground level suite. We were just feet away from the sea wall on one side and the private beach on the other. The property was beautiful. I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else or in a different suite. Upon arrival we had trouble accessing the suite but the Property Manager was immediately responsive and helped us learn the process to open the two locks on the main door. He checked in later to ensure everything was working and asked us to let him know if we needed anything at anytime. Excellent customer service! Thank you.

Old mattress with large middle sinkhole

The mattress of the bedroom was so old that it has a sinkhole as large as a giant watermelon. I called the managing company 3 times and they never called back, never show up like they said they would. Contacted VRBO too and they said they can send a message to the managing company but they can’t do anything about it themselves. We ended up sleeping on the floor :/

Great place to stay!!

This place is one of a kind. Very beautiful view even though we stayed on the ground floor. We were right by the bbq, and the pool. The sea wall had turtles every single day feeding off of it. We also saw other ocean life right off of the property. Our kids are 4 & 6 and they loved the pool. However the rules of the pool made it a bit challenging to have fun, but many guests and residents were happy to let my kids just play and be kids. Some still wanted silence, which we respected and went to the beach. Check in was super easy and the unit was fairly clean. There was one hick up with bedding not being clean, however I only mention it to say that the owner and staff rectified it that day and were very happy to assist us with any other cleaning issues. We would not hesitate to stay here again and we have stayed on the south side of the island as well. This would be a great place to host a family vacation, couples retreat or even a solo trip. Great condo!
