The property managers, Spencer and Sara, were quick on communication and super friendly! The breakfasts they provided were sweet and delicious! Beds were comfortable and there was enough space for our party of 6 adults. The property is right across from a lovely small cove for swimming and only 1000 ft away is a sandy stretch of secluded beach where we saw huge sea turtles! The nearby plaza (3-4 minute drive) has multiple restaurants and a well stocked grocery. We recommend a rental car. Parking is easy on premise. Drawbacks: the property is tightly monitored for energy use and we felt the owner who lives above the listing was closely watching our energy consumption and AC usage, which seemed excessive based on the price point. The lights in the lounge are set on a timer so if you are sitting to eat, play games or converse, they turn off frequently (same for fan settings). Owner was also wary of people using the main trash bin so we had to wait for the property managers to remove the trash daily which felt unnecessary. Only some of the rooms have a TV and there is no TV in the lounge/lobby which is the communal space.There is no drying rack for wet towels or bathing suits outside of the towel rack in the bathroom. There are only 2 patio chairs to enjoy the gorgeous view of the sea from the front yard. A huge plus would have been some beach chairs to utilize as well. We understand that this listing is fairly new for Surf Shack so kinks are still being ironed out. Mahalo!
