Perfect!!

Location was amazing. Very comfortable for 6 adults and 1 toddler. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would do it again in a heartbeat. Well stocked and clean, ready when we arrived. Thank you!!!

Nice family vacation

Wonderful resort and unit which was steps away from the pool. Only downside was that we felt the kitchen was not well equipped for our goup of 6, plus infant. We have stayed at many VRBO’s and never have we not had at least salt and pepper provided. For as much as we paid, you would think that would be provided

Fabulous

This property was everything it showed on line. We plan on returning. We have fabulous cooks in the family and the kitchens were great. Well stocked with what was needed with appliances. Rooms and beds were very good. The location was we feel the best in the resort. Walk out the patio to the pool. Having the Tommy Bahama chairs available made the beach outings wonderful. Highly recommended resort

Family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It far exceeded our expectations! The location in proximity to the beach and pools was perfect. We has infants and children in our group and the spacious lanai and grass area was great for them.

Perfect condo for a family

Beautifully appointed condo. Perfect for our family. Loved being on the ground floor with our own BBQ and yard. Came equipped with many things including boogie boards, cooler on wheels, lawnchairs. Resort is beautiful too. Great fitness room, nice pools, close to beach. Pools more suited to little kids. Better beaches close walk down the beach or boardwalk. Within walking distance to grocery store. Dukes very expensive but delicious. Cooked most of our meals in fantastic kitchen.

Awesome family vacation!!

This was our first vacation using VRBO and it was a great success. The KBM property at Honua Kai was exactly as pictured and described. Clean and plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 littles. The first floor location is ideal for quick access to any of the 3 pools and Dukes. The beach is about a 2 minute walk and a great place for family photos at sunset! Overall I would give more stars if I could. This place was truly awesome for our family vacation. If I have anything negative to say it would be to put some felt pads on the dining room chairs. They are loud enough to wake littles when pulled away from the table. Also the clothes dryer vent needs to be cleaned. Clothes take forever to dry. The construction noise people have mentioned was not an issue.

Wonderful vacation

This property and condo are first class all the way. Best condo in complex, only one with a private yard and the location is so convenient to pools and beach. Finishes in the condo are luxurious and all rooms spacious. Only issue we had is that there is an annoying repetitive clunking noise at night that comes from an exterior electrical panel. It disturbs occupants of the second master bedroom. Management staff was very friendly and responsive and maintenance staff was very diligent in trying to remedy situation. Despite this one issue, we had a fabulous family vacation (3 generations).

Best in the complex

In our opinion! Lovely suite, fabulous location for three generations - terrace and garden were perfect for little ones, there is a side yard access to the resort grounds, a sense of openness in the unit’s orientation and quick access to the pools and the beach. We had a great time.

Gorgeous Unit and Well-Managed - Amazing stay during Thanksgiving Week!

This is a truly gorgeous unit and well maintained by the KBM Hawaii folks. I'm not sure why one previous reviewer said this unit lacked items and was not properly maintained because we found it quite the opposite! The unit was clean (no bugs that I could see and I'm highly particular about things like that), fully stocked with every single item you could possibly need for your stay - I cooked a full Thanksgiving meal for 6 adults and one toddler (19 mos old) and frankly this unit did NOT lack for any grilling accessory, utensil, service ware, plates or glasses. There was PLENTY! If you are a hobby cook like myself and love to cook/ bake family meals this is the place for you - four burner Viking Professional stove with two ovens and an outdoor grill! Times Market, Foodland, Maui Fish Market are all a short drive from here with enough space to store your groceries for a longterm stay Lots of seating and room for the family to spread out (this helped as we came during the rainy, cool season) when we were indoors. My 19 month old had a great time and there was nothing too precious in the unit that I feared he would injure himself with or break. Very family friendly - esp with its close proximity to the children's pool and Duke's. We also loved that this had a grassy area/ lanai to hang out on during the sunny days (the nano doors were easy to operate and allowed for indoor/outdoor living which was great). KBM was very responsive when I needed small items replenished or fixed such as extra garbage bags, a request for additional sand toys, and a few small burned out lights (they got back to us within 24 hours or less). Pack n Play as well as the beach toys were clean and ready to go. Every room had more than enough towels (beach towels and bath towels). We look forward to coming back and booking this unit again

Perfect!

We couldn't ask for better location and better stay on Maui. Previously we were staying at Westin which is nice also. But having your own condo with a huge patio and right across from the restaraunt and swimming pool was even better. We definitely will be back again.

Luxurious condominium in prime location

My family of five (including three kids ages 7, 11, and 13) just completed a wonderful week on the Ka'anapali coast of Maui just North of Lahaina. The Honua Kai Resort sits right on the ocean, with gorgeous views of sunset every evening. We selected this specific unit for 2 reasons: 1) it was unique in offering two queen beds in the third bedroom, so none of the kids had to sleep in a sofa; and 2) its proximity to the pool and the ocean, which worked out very well for my elderly parents. There seem to be no difference between the 2 buildings at Honua Kai. Despite being literally right next to one of the swimming pools, noise was never a problem. We felt completely safe allowing all 3 kids to stay in the pools while we prepared lunch in the condo. Everything in the unit was top notch. The ocean is less than a hundred yards away, and is crystal clear with calm waves and the occasional sea turtle. Proximity to Lahaina was another advantage. If we ever make it back to Maui, we would definitely look to stay here again.

Cockroach infestation Carpets dirty at check in

Unit obviously had not been occupied on quite some time. Pergola outside covered in spider webs. One beach umbrella broken Had to have exterminator come out and spray. Still killed numerous cockroaches every morning Kitchen had a meager supply of untensils and pots and pans Master shower door handle broke off We paid a lot for this unit and we were very disappointed. Mgmt company very slow to respond to situation We have been to Hawaii over 25 times and have stayed in units half the price that were much nicer!!!

Decent property but service could be better

We had to request 3 times for toiletries and 2 days later it was delivered. They promised another toiletries delivery a few days later and we never got it either. Overall, the property was nice but the lack of service was disappointing.
