This resort is our favorite. It’s a great location in the Kaanapali are. It’s a great property with an added bonus of Dukes on site. The unit was just as described and clean. It was a little light on kitchen supplies and tools, but had just enough to make do for cooking. The dryer didn’t work that well; it took a long time for the clothes to get dry. It was faster to have them air dry on the balcony.

A week in Paradise!

We had the most amazing trip! The room was clean and perfect with views of the mountains and ocean. Great location and beautiful beach. Pools and Duke's restaurant on site were a plus!

Honua Kai Maui

The condo/resort was so nice. Had a great view from it although it's a side view I didn't mind at all. Loved having a washer/dryer in the unit. I was able to go home with all clean clothes!! The condo is not far to grocery stores and a few restaurants. I do wish they had pizza on site. Someone would make a killing if they opened one especially with all the young families there. Having underground parking was nice. The elevator by our room was broken and had been for 2 wks but There was another elevator just about 25 rooms from us. It helped me keep my steps up!!! I would highly recommend this condo and the resort to anyone!!

Week at Honua Kai

We had an incredible stay at KBM Resorts’ Honua Kai! The villa was perfect for our family, especially with the included rental car, which made exploring the island so easy. The villa itself was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. We loved the convenience of having a well-appointed kitchen and the beautiful ocean views from the lanai. The resort amenities were a hit with the kids, who couldn’t get enough of the waterslide and the various pools. The beach was lovely, offering some decent snorkeling, and just a short drive away were even better spots for exploring the underwater life. We also loved how convenient the location was—with a variety of food trucks only a 5-minute walk away and a Safeway just a 7-minute drive for any essentials. Overall, this was a wonderful family-friendly destination that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a blend of relaxation and adventure!

Paradise

The property, pools and hot tubs were beautiful, the room was very clean. The beach here at the resort was beautiful and clean! I had received an email that the pull out couch was not comfortable for anyone over 70 lbs and the two others that came with us were adults so we had to spend more money on rollaway beds. They took the mattresses off the rollaway beds and laid them on top of the pull out couch mattress. There were two beach chairs and a boogie board in the room. The only thing I wish the room had was an umbrella as we had to rent one for $40 a day anytime we wanted one. On this brutal sun, some sort of shade is needed to escape a bit. Great location to everything. The only thing we had to really drive further for was to get to Paia to start the road to Hana. Paia was about an hour away. The owners checked in several times via phone call or email! Would definitely stay here again!!

We had a lovely stay. Only issue is we were bothered by property updates. They changed the door locks, sprayed for pest control, and knocked on the door to fix the carpet, but there was no carpet in our unit? But all of these things continue to make the Honua Kai a great place to stay!

Worth it/but a little tired

The property has gone downhill a bit in the past 5 years, just a little tired. The pools don’t seem clean, the lounge chairs have bird poop all over them, garbage on the lawn area, one side table for the whole pool area. Our condo was great, well-appointed and stocked with beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards. Kitchen well-stocked. Clean throughout condo.

Pretty stellar little condo for Maui getaway

This was my wife an my first trip with our infant. So happy we found this place. Condo is about the perfect size. The loaned us a pack n play which made travel so much easier. We spent some days exploring the island and others just hanging at the pool which is about as close as you can get. There is an ocean view but only if you go out on the patio but the view it does have is nice of the West Maui mountains and the other towers in the resort. Very private. And the laundry was a god send we didn't know we needed. We are talking about regnant a bigger place for a full family trip in the years to come.

Great stay, some overall cleaning of property needed

We have stayed at Honua Kai many times before and the unit itself outside of the couch and living room chair were clean, the furniture however is need of replacing. As far as the property itself they need to do some cleaning in the common areas and hallways. The trash and recycle rooms were full and they need to do a better job in that area as well. We were happy that most people wore mask in the elevator and check in area.

The management company was good. The unit was clean and comfortable. Property was dirty ran down

Hotel staff at front desk and concierge was very rude because we didn’t book through them. Garbage left in hallways for 3 days. Pools dirty and murky. Carpet in hallways filthy. Elevators were disgusting. Such a disappointment from previous stats at this location. Homeowner who pay for this should be appalled. Grounds were still up kept though. So there’s something.

Perfect Maui vacation

Wonderful condo

My daughter and I visit Maui annually to see family there. We have stayed at Honua Kai a number of times, and this condo was one of our very favorites. The location is quiet, with a wonderful ocean view from the lanai. The condo is very clean and well stocked. We appreciated the two beach chairs and cooler there for our use. KBM was great to work with. Though there was construction nearby, we did not hear it in the mornings, and since we were out most of the day, it did not bother us at all. We would definitely stay in this unit again. Thanks KBM!

Great piece of property

Really had a great time in Hawaii. Room was clean, had everything we needed. Great access to restaurants and shopping centers. Never did quite get the hang of reading street signs but that is part of the Hawaii experience. Weather was fantastic. The property was close to all sorts of tourist attractions. Staff was very friendly. Having a refrigerator, washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove and microwave along with all sorts of dishes and pots and pans was a plus.

Lovely Maui Condo

We really enjoyed our stay here! The condo had everything we needed. It was just the right amount of space for the two of us. The furnishings were comfortable and the layout of the space was great. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was considering all the units around us. Our only issues: the sheets had a very strong chemical scent from the fabric softener and we had to wash them our first day; toward the end of our stay, we had smoke coming into our unit from a nearby smoker, even though the unit and resort are suppose to be smoke-free. We did call security and they did speak to the smoker and it improved a little. The KBM staff were friendly and helpful and we thought that the inclusion of a rental car improved the value of the total cost.

Good but not Great

The property is wonderful, the staff is outstanding and your close enough to things but yet far enough out for privacy! Dukes on site is fantastic, walking path is so great and pools/amenities are great! This particular unit is smaller than what was expected and needs a little TLC; furniture has been worn out and the couch has a few holes in it from use of the hide a bed... its good, but not great! We also had issues with the A/C and the kitchen sink water had low pressure... had to call for service 2x on things. It obviously is getting used/rented, which is great, but would like to see furniture updated a bit... scratches on the tables and broken glass corner on coffee table (which we pointed out to the prop mgmt co., not safe). We will definitely stay at this property again, but would prefer a bigger unit - even if it is just the two of us. We still had an amazing time... how can you not, its Maui! Mahalo!

Loved it - changed my opinion on resorts

We stayed in two places in Maui (one in Kihei and then this unit). This was by far our favorite. More expensive - but they delivered in my opinion. KBM was incredibly responsive and organized. Everything from the chocolate macadamia nuts gift box on our table when we arrived to the free valet made you feel like you were taken care of. I thought it was the perfect balance between a hotel and a condo rental. There are amenities on the property that resemble a hotel (eg. concierge, free towels at pools, gym, closet stocked with brand new boogie boards, beach toys, etc.) and the advantages of a condo rental (eg. kitchen, fridge, etc.). The room was well maintained and my kid LOVED the pools. The only disadvantage is the beach - there isn't much of a beach right out front of the property (it's short and steep and not many residents were located there). So expect to drive to local beaches (which there are plenty 5-15min away).
