Boutique B&B | Flor de Leon Historic Home

Our home was originally built in 1905 by the somewhat notorious cigar manufacturer Leon S. Boucher. The Flor De Leon was a popular brand of cigars that L.S. Boucher manufactured and sold here in downtown Joplin.

My wife and I have lovingly renovated our home over the past year by combining its original historic charm with our own modern/eclectic style. We are particularly proud of the kitchen, bathrooms, and sunroom!

We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!

Guest Access:

The first floor consists of a kitchen, dining room, living room, powder room, and sunroom. A laundry room is also available for use in the basement

The second floor is the main sleeping area which consists of four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms on this floor have desk space.

The third floor is the master suite. A great place to unwind after a long day of traveling! We especially love the skylight above the bathtub!

House Rules:
Please read and be aware of these House Rules before arrival. Failure to follow these House Rules will immediately result in the following charges:
-🍄FEES: Please make sure you enter the correct number of guests for your stay. Unapproved guests visiting the house without proper communication will be added to your guest list and result in an additional $20/day/person for your reservation.
-🍄FEES: NO HOUSE PARTIES, EVENTS OR GATHERINGS, any sign of these will be result in immediate eviction without refund and a $200 charge.
-🍄FEES: Unapproved LATE CHECK-OUT will result in an additional $25 every 15 minutes after check-out time.
-🍄 FEES: NO PETS, any guest found to have had a pet indoors will be immediately evicted without refund and charged an additional $200/day + any additional cost for extra cleaning
-🍄FEES: Lost TV remote control will result in a $50 charge.
-🍄FEES: Smoking of any kind inside will result in an immediate eviction without refund and an automatic $250 charge + any cost to deodorize the house.
-🍄FEES: Tampering with or breaking any of the electronics, furniture, or appliances (including; but not limited to, moving furniture from their assigned rooms) will result in an immediate $250 charge.
-🍄Quiet Hours: 10pm-9am (the house is equipped with noise monitoring devices) Violation of quiet hours will result in immediate eviction without refund as well as a $250 charge


-We are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables during your stay. We cannot be responsible for any items left behind.

We absolutely loved this house. The the kids, my wife and i didnt want to leave. The Flor de leon was so comfortable, inviting and had everything we needed plus some for our spring break. Joplin is a cool town with way more to do than people realize. We take a spring break vacation to a different state and house every year and this one is in the top 2 of our favorites and want to return too.. thank you for your hospitality and home for the week!

Beautiful home in Joplin

This is a beautiful home in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. The home is decorated nicely and was very comfortable for our short stay. With 5 bedrooms it was perfect for our extended family that was traveling together. Would definitely choose this property again.

Fabulous Property

Stunning historic home with just enough updates and remodel to make it modern but keep the old beauty and charm. Very clean and in a nice historic neighborhood. David was great to work with and answered all questions fast and thoroughly. There were 10 of us adults and there was plenty of room! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals. Check in and out was easy. Loved this wonderful home. I would highly recommend it and will plan to stay here again if in the area.

Absolutely perfect stay!

Thank you so much for having my friends and I. We were in town to participate in a slightly stressful event. The accommodations were perfect and definitely decreased our stress levels so that our minds were focused. The entire house is amazing but my favorite parts are the sun room with the table which was perfect for reading and coffee, and the two skylights on the third floor over the tub and the bed. I felt pampered. I hope to stay here again next year!!!

This house had plenty of space and was updated and decorated very nicely. We were very impressed with the cooling system in the house, as it was very hot while we were there, and it cooled off very nicely. All necessities were provided for a comfortable and pleasant stay, and we would definitely stay here again.

Glamorous stay!

We went as a group of young moms for a comedy show and a quick overnight stay in Joplin. Between the 5 of us, the nightly rent was completely fair, especially for all of us to feel so special and glamorous to stay in such a fabulous house. We loved it and had so much fun!

Beautiful home

I have to admit I booked this last minute and was in a hurry. But I was pleasantly surprised by all the extra amenities. I usually bring a little bag of extra stuff we need at VRBO listings, but I did not need one thing in my bag! There were condiments in the fridge, sugar, coffee, laundry detergent, dryer sheets and more! Beautifully decorated home. Beds are VERY firm. Down filled couch! Quiet street. What more could you want? Bring your climbing knees though, because the flights of stairs to the 3rd floor feel never ending ;)

Our stay was perfect! We enjoyed the lay out of the home, attention to detail in the bathrooms especially. Loved that there was so much historical integrity in tact. Lovely historic home

If you love well-restored old homes, this is a place you will thoroughly enjoy. In an entire weekend it was hard for me to take in all the architecture, beautiful decorating and number of large sunny windows. I mostly enjoyed the sun porch, kitchen and wonderful bathtub in the topmost bedroom.

Truly Amazing House

Words can't adequately describe just how cool this house is! The architecture is unique, the house's history is very neat, and the job the owners did in rehabbing and decorating it is just phenomenal. Our family has rented vacation homes across the country and without a doubt, we've decided this house is our favorite!

Exquisite Joplin Gem

The pictures on VRBO do not do justice to this beautifully and lovingly restored home! After our initial ‘tour’ of the house we settled in and so enjoyed discovering the delightful furnishings and architectural design. We felt like honored guests with every amenity we could want at our fingertips: well-equipped kitchen with more-than-basic pantry items; terrific WiFi connection; spacious bathrooms; memory-foam beds; and large (Yet somehow intimate) common areas. Time restraints didn’t allow us to cook, but the group agreed that we wanted to return to our “Paradise” to eat all purchased meals. We kept remarking to each other that we wished we had more family with us to enjoy the experience. The hosts were responsive but not intrusive and check-in/check-out was easy and efficient. We will definitely return when we are in the area!
