Hotel was outdated and it was not a welcoming start of a vacation holiday. The aging hotel needs improvement on many aspects. We were really disappointed with our both of the rooms as it was not upto the Marriott standards. My first room sofa had a big stain on it and the beds were horrible. We booked king sized beds for both of the rooms and the worst part is hotel is using two single queen beds to make it look like king. The rooms had very poor lighting and not bright enough, which made the rooms feel dark and uncomfortable. Washrooms were so suffocating and no exhausts available. The condition of the room caused a severe anxiety for me as it felt like a health and cleanliness problem. I tried to discuss the situation with the Duty Manager, I guess his name was Veerain and he was completely unhelpful, he said you have booked the Fairfield Marriott it’s not the Marriott property that you’re expecting. After some discussion he agreed to show us an another room that was slightly bigger in space but the same setup and poor lighting. I asked him if it’s possible I would like to check out right away and book somewhere else as this hotel is giving me anxiety. He clearly said no that he won’t be able to cancel my booking. I told him we haven’t even used anything and we just checked in, as it’s effecting my health but he didn’t care at all. At this point I tried to reach out to Expedia to ask for help, they contacted hotel but Veerain refused to cancel my booking and offered me one
