Actually this guest didn't call me. He had the wrong number. VRBO and I are still trying to understand where he got that number from. He arrived at the apartment and left immediately to check into a hotel. He never reached out to VRBO until the next day. When VRBO called me at 8am the next morning, per my usual, I picked up immediately. VRBO informed me that the guest had an incorrect telephone number for me so that is why they couldn't reach me. The guest also was trying to call from an international number and was having difficulty calling in the United States. This guest was offered the opportunity to go back to the unit but refused. The code was tried and it worked. He was doing something wrong. This guest was being very difficult and uncooperative. I offered to give a complimentary night for his troubles. He refused. So I bid him a good day and wished him well during his visit. Regarding the traffic: I am absentee so I wouldn't know about the construction. However I do know that even with construction blocking the road, they let you in the block. They cannot block people from getting home. This guest in my opinion needed to use a bit more common sense. If you have trouble at the property call VRBO immediately who is open 24 hours if you can't reach the host. Get a temporary phone number or plan for traveling abroad to make your life easier. And, if you are going to message the host at 10pm through the app, assume that the host may possibly be asleep and is not staring at the app open waiting for your text. CALL so the phone will ring because any good host expecting a guest will have their phone on and ring mode LOUD. And make sure you have the right number to begin with. Learn how to follow instructions to the letter (press# after entering the code) for access. And lastly, make it easy for the host to reach you prior to your travel date. Leave an email address when making a reservation if you are going to only have an international number so I can reach out in advance to make sure you got the information and to get an idea on what time you are arriving. With these few adjustments the guest experience would have been 5 stars like it always is.

Thank you for your review. We do enforce quiet hours. When you visit us again if there is ever any noise after 10pm we need to be alerted immediately. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am during the weekdays and 12pm to 8am on weekends. Also, yes, quarters are provided upon request. I will note this in the house description. Timur thank you for your review. If you stay with us again there are a few things I would like for you to consider as follows: 1. Quiet hours are in place so it won't be hard to fall asleep unless you go to sleep before 9pm. Also we take guest comfort very seriously so any inconveniences need to be reported immediately. 2. The washer and dryer is indeed coin operated. $1.75 per wash and $1.50 per dry. WE PROVIDE COINS - you just have to let us know you need them. 3. As with all cities there are times of day when traffic is heavy. Rush hour is from 7am to 10am. If you travel from the unit to NYC after those hours, driving should take about 30 minutes tops.

Srikanth you requested a late checkout and you were told no because we had a guest checking in at 4:00 the same day. I explained that as much as I would have liked to accommodate you, we needed every bit of 6 hours to sanitize the apartment so you had to checkout at 10am SHARP. Like the other rules you ignored, you chose to ignore the 10AM SHARP checking out 45 minutes later. You did NOT have bags outside or my crew would have entered the apartment. My cleaning crew are trained to NOT disturb guests so they wouldn't have knocked on the door like housekeeping in a hotel. They observed you were still there by your car in the driveway so they just waited. It was your responsibility to adhere to the rules which you constantly broke before and during your stay, which I graciously put up with. And as far as putting information in the listing, that would have made no difference to you because in the listing it clearly states no guests under 13 as house is not suitable for small children. Did you adhere to this - No! You booked anyway with a Toddler in tow. And yes, I police the building, the apartments, the cleaning, the quiet hours, the time, the design and everything else pertaining to guest experience which is why you thoroughly enjoyed your stay. The bad taste in your mouth that you were left with was because you insisted on eating what I told you NOT to eat. My advice to you is to follow the house rules and understand that NO means NO.
