As described but better in person!
Working with the owner was perfect. We stayed in contact most of the weekend. While that may sound bad, we had severe weather with a hail storm that blew through and he was in contact to make sure our internet was working since we were stuck in doors. The place is clean and very inviting. I prefer a larger bed, but the full bed was very comfortable. The only thing I think people should know is the walk to the water is like a hiking trail. My older Mom and handicapped brother couldn't make the hike down to the water but my teen son and I were fine. Once you get to the water, it has a sandy beach and gradually gets deeper so its perfect for swimming or just hanging out.

Loved the location! Super quiet and private! I grew up in this area so getting to stay at this place was awesome for me! The host was very kind and communicated with us if we had any questions. The path to the lake was private and we had our own little beach area to ourselves. We will definitely be staying again in the future!

Girls Weekend
Had an amazing time staying at this house. It was very cozy. We love to float in the lake all day and the waterfront is perfect for that. There is quite a hike going to and from the house. If you’re carrying a lot of can be quite difficult but overall very nice place.

Beautiful Property, Fantastic Location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The pictures definitely don't do this house justice. The home is beautifully done on the inside and is very spacious! Big kitchen, dining table that will seat 8 (which was great for game night) and two futons in the living area that allow plenty of seating for everyone. The path to the lake was fairly short and the sandy beach on the water was perfect for the kids to swim. You honestly can't beat this location. It's within a gated community, so it felt extra secure to let the kids play outside as well. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice getaway!

Lovely cabin close to the lake
The cabin is a great size and could fit a lot of people in it. There is a bit of a walk to the lake but i enjoyed it, it wasn't that bad. Overall happy with my stay and would book the place again

Good stay!
Nice cabin, had all the amenities listed. The only negative was the water was a little walking distance if you're old with health problems and more rock than sand. We didn't fish but looked like it would be a good fishing spot! The host, Phil was very friendly, informative and willing to help! Hopefully will make it back there next year!

Close to Ebenezer Park
We really enjoyed this location. Private road with security gate. Walking distance from Ebenezer Park that has a nice beach area. Property also has a short walking path down to the lake. We will be back.

Needs a few things
More washcloths and towels and hand towels and dish towels also need bug spray make a note on the tankless water heater needs to be low for consisted hot water works well that way for a showers

Quiet place by the lake
We stayed for 4 nights/5 days. It was very pleasant to be located by the lake, very quiet and super convenient for our kids who enjoyed swimming and fishing very much. The owner was very welcoming and made our check in and check out easy.

We absolutely loved it. We had a beautiful house to stay in and the kids loved seeing all the nature. All the kids loved the walk seeing an armadillo, birds, and dragonflies. We can not wait to have another vacation and we would love to have it there.

Ready to go again!
Phillip was extremely easy to work with. He was quick to answer messages and close enough to the property to come over if needed (but did not impose on us unnecessarily). He drove to meet us down the road to make our first attempt at finding the place successful and even hung around to give us a tour of the property and advice on places to explore in and area! I was a little surprised to see that the cabin is close to a little neighborhood but it was so quiet and peaceful that we hardly even knew. The walk to the beach was also a little bit farther than I had imagined (maybe a couple minute walk) but that also turned out to be a pleasant surprise because it added to the adventure of the stay for the kids. We talked about flowers, plants, and creatures (bugs and such) we saw along the way. The cabin was exactly what we needed. A two bedroom with a queen bed in one and two twins in the other, a futon bed in the living area along with a couch and reclining chair. We had 3 adults and 4 children and plenty of room. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and had all of your everyday essentials (although I took our own just in case). If I could see anything going wrong for some people it would be that the property needs a deep clean in the kitchen and bathrooom(as you can tell that a lot of it isn't used frequently and some creatures have taken advantage of that) and the shower curtain could use a replacement. Personally, I clean what I needed as I needed to and don't let the little things get to me so this did not add any negativity to the trip for us. We had a most wonderful weekend at this cabin and we are so grateful for Phillip letting us rent it! The lake view is gorgeous at all points of the day and the little cove (that we had all to ourselves) had a perfect little sandy area for the kids to play or my husband to fish. The trees surrounded the property and kept the vibe peaceful and quaint. Thank you Phillip!

The home was very clean and comfortable, was as described in the advertisement. The short hike to the beach was an adventure for the kids...but worth the easy 50 yard walk.....we even caught a few fish... it was nice to have the little beach all to ourselves....everyone had a great time and we would like stay again...

Pleasant beach getaway
Phillip met us near the highway to guide us to the rental. The cottage was nice and clean. Could use some more kitchen accessories, like a proper bbq tong instead of salad tongs, but it had the basics. There was a twin bed that we couldn’t use because the mattress was shot, so my daughter used the futon instead. Plenty of channels to watch on tv in the evening. The beach was pleasant. Not private, as a huge party barge parked there on Saturday when we went back to the cottage for lunch. Though that was the only time we shared it over the long weekend. It is a pretty area and the lake was wonderful. Note it is a short distance to the beach and a bit tricky carrying stuff as you have to watch your step. Overall we enjoyed our time at the lake and would visit again.

Thanks for telling me the mattress wasn't comfortable, I have replaced it already. I am sorry about the beach because that is the first time in a very very long time I have seen anything like that. Since it is a public lake and the US corps of Engineers owns the sands it is always possible. I will buy some big BBQ tongs for the setup, thanks for your input and thanks for visiting lake Sam Rayburn!

Wonderful time
We had two couples and 3 young children. The cabin had plenty of room for all 7 of us. We all enjoyed the back patio and the amount of space in the yard for play. We enjoyed having our own private beach area on the lake. The walk to the lake was alittle more overgrown than expected, but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Cute, relaxing, private cabin!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the cabin! Phillip was very accommodating. He lives next door and was close enough when we needed some extra supplies, but not too close that you didn't feel like you had privacy. The houses are separated by trees so it gives you the privacy you need. It is a little bit of a hike through some terrain to get to the water but it's not bad. My 5 year old was able to walk with us with no problems. There is a little private beach area once you get down to the lake that was perfect for me to lay out and relax while my husband and daughter fished. The home was clean and was recently built so it was really nice and furnished well. The only drawback I would say is the twin bed mattresses were really firm. My daughter didn't complain and it was actually better for my husbands back than a softer mattress so if you prefer or need a firmer mattress then this would be a non-issue. The double bed in the other room was softer and was comfortable for me. We have ATT cell service and had no problems getting signal. There is no wifi but if you have hotspot or are going to get away from it all this is also a non issue. I like having wifi so I was a bit concerned how the reception would be or if I would have a signal but I had no problems at all! It is well furnished with just about everything you need. kitchen is fairly well stocked for a fishing cabin, but there was no toaster, we worked around it and just toasted our bread in the oven. I'm a bit OCD and like to keep everything clean and there was no mop or general cleaning supplies (all purpose cleaner). But, if you're going to get away from housework and just want to relax then it is not a problem. All in all it was a great little cabin, perfect for what we needed and couldn't have asked for a better owner to rent from! We are already trying to figure out our schedule so that we can make plans to go back! We will definitely be renting the cabin again in the near future! I hope I covered all the pros and cons. For the most part the "cons" were minor and didn't deter us from wanting to go back! We just know what additional items we will need to pack next time we stay 😊
