    THE SPACE

    Two decks look out over the Atlantic from this oceanfront condo at Captains Court, tucked inside the gated Amelia Island Plantation community. The beach here feels near-private, and the Omni Resort is close enough to walk to for dinner, drinks, or a round of golf. With three bedrooms plus a sitting room for extra sleeping, this condo comfortably fits a family or two.

    TWO OCEANFRONT DECKS

    Step outside to either of two decks looking straight out over the Atlantic, a rare feature at this price point. They're a favorite spot for morning coffee or watching the sunrise over the water.

    A NEAR-PRIVATE BEACH

    The beach is a short walk from the condo, and because it sits inside the resort community, it stays quiet even in season. Guests consistently describe it as feeling practically private. The Omni Resort is close enough to reach on foot in just a few minutes.

    LIVING ROOM

    Comfortable furniture and a TV with standard cable and satellite make this a relaxed place to unwind after a day at the beach or the pool.

    KITCHEN AND DINING

    The well-equipped kitchen has a full range of cooking basics, crockery, and cutlery, everything needed to put together meals and snacks for the whole group.

    SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

    Two bedrooms each have a king bed with an en suite bathroom. A third bedroom has two single beds for kids, and the living room adds a single bed plus a sofa bed for extra sleeping, comfortably fitting up to 7 guests.

    BATHROOMS

    Three full bathrooms serve the condo: two en suite (one with a shower, one with a combo tub/shower) and a third private bathroom with a combo tub/shower.

    COMMUNITY POOL

    A shared outdoor pool sits just steps from the condo, tucked among the trees. It belongs to the Captains Court community rather than the Omni Resort itself, so no resort pool access is included with this rental.

    COMFORT AND EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS

    Air conditioning and heat keep the condo comfortable year-round, and an in-unit washer and dryer mean packing light is genuinely an option. Free WiFi and a dedicated workspace are ready for anyone who needs to log on. Self check-in means no key pickup required.

    EXPLORE AMELIA ISLAND

    The Omni Resort is within walking distance for dining, drinks, or golf, and the neighborhood offers walking paths plus mini golf and restaurants nearby (some for a fee). Downtown Fernandina Beach is a short drive away for more shopping and dining.

    GOOD TO KNOW

    This is not a pet-friendly property. Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM, and checkout is before 10:00 AM, with a maximum occupancy of 7 guests. This is a 2nd-floor unit reached by about 40 stairs; the property is not wheelchair accessible. Parking is free and open, first come, first served, for up to two vehicles. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year, just a message or a call away.

Spectacular views walk to beach

Location can’t be beat. This condo is perched on a high bluff above the beach. MBr faces ocean with deck and chaises. Comfortably furnished. A few items that need updating but this condo was a great value. There are many stairs so avoid if this is a problem. If you love the beach and sound of the ocean then you will love this spot

Great location

Spacious enough for 5 adults. Beautiful view. Great location - short drive to restaurants and stores. Plenty of dishes, glassware, and pots/pans (we cooked a complete Thanksgiving meal). Be prepared for lots of steps from parking lot to unit. Only issue was musty smell.

Wonderful condo! Beautiful views!

We had a wonderful time with our family. The stairs from the parking lot can at first seem daunting, but rest assured this condo is worth the trek. Lovely views from all floors. Big TV for family movie nights. Perfectly appointed galley kitchen. Clean, well functioning laundry room. Office space with ocean views for zoom calls. Easy beach access with the best sea shells we’ve ever found. Really happy we stayed there!

Leslie went above and beyond to help us and make our trip enjoyable. Some of the best customer service I have ever received and the place was amazing. Beach views everywhere, comfortable, just amazing. There were some stairs, but manageable. Just overall a great stay!

Nice condo

We were warned about all the stairs so we expected them. There are 3 sets of steps inside the condo but only one set had a handrail. The other 2 need handrails too for safety. We had a child and an adult that fell on them; a railing would’ve been helpful in both instances. Otherwise a very comfortable stay with great views of the ocean.

Lovely spot. Lots of stairs

Had some bumps in our four day stay. The AC stopped working twice. My shower in the bathroom didn't put out hot water. HOWEVER, the incredibly quick response time from the manager made it so very nice. We had the AC fixed in an hour or so (it acted up again just before we left and we just let them know) and the shower was fixed in the morning. It didn't interrupt our vacation at all.Note to the owner - there is some water damage in the ceiling in the dining room that may need to be addressed.

Bathrooms are updated and clean. The rooms have all-new dressers and night tables. The path to the beach is steps from the condo. This was a great stay -- we were there for a month and really enjoyed it. The pool was under construction while we were there, but it looked to be almost done, and there is a tennis court on the property too.

Beautiful View

This property is in a great location and has a beautiful view of the ocean! It is a short and easy walk to the beach. The shower in the Master Bedroom was not draining properly, but the property manager sent someone within an hour to fix it after we contacted them. Only negatives: There are no tvs in the bedrooms and the sheets on the beds were not the best. The fitted sheet would come off in the middle of the night. Overall, it was a great place that accommodated two adults and four teenagers.

Uncomfortable for more than 4 adults. Kitchen so small it only fits 1 person at a time. No cabinet space at all for storing any food. Also on 3 levels, so lots of stairs. Had unfortunate situation on day 2 with invasion of flying ants, covering the walls, drapes, crawling in our ears in bed. Mgt company was very accommodating and moved us to another unit. I would highly recommend Amelia Rental & Management, but not 1004 Captains Court.

Ant Problem

We had to move to a different location because one of the bedrooms was infested with ants. Our child was not able to sleep in the room because the ants were everywhere including the bed. The property manager came twice to spray but it was no help. Also when we arrived, the upstairs balcony door was broken. It had an open gap about an inch wide and the parts of the door frame were just left on the balcony. This was fixed promptly but it was odd that it was left in this condition on the day of our arrival. We have stayed in multiple Captains Court villas in the past and never had any problems. They needed an exterminator to control the ant infestation but said it would be a couple of days before they could get there, so we asked to be moved. The management company was very responsive and got us moved to a different rental but it was not an ocean view. The rating would have obviously been higher without the ant issue.

Don’t let the pictures fool you.

Bugs, dirt and a broken bed is what we arrived to. It seems like the owners or management company got by with the bare minimum when it comes to renovating. The beds were super uncomfortable and one was broken and unusable when we arrived. It was frustrating that it was not fixed beforehand and it was extremely noticeable as you walked up the stairs (along with all of the dirt and dust under the bed). There were little ants with wings everywhere. And while the second flood patio had a great view we couldn’t use it the entire time we were there because of the no-seeums that attacked you as soon as you were on the porch. The kitchen “looks” updated in the pictures but half of the cabinet drawers were broken and hard to open/close because the tracks were broken or gone. I could look past the hodge podge of decor (looks like they couldn’t decide between coastal and The Beetlejuice movie) but we really couldn’t get past the uncomfortable beds that creaked every time you turned over or felt like you were sleeping in the floor. Lastly, the upstairs loft area does have a trundle bed. But be prepared to sweat your butt off of it is at all sunny. Also beware if you have a little kid. The upstairs patio door did not lock at all. We’ve stayed at several Omni Villas over the years and this was one of our least favorite when it came to layout and comfort.

Be honest

The view was great from the top floor. The villa was nice. The bath on the top floor had a VERY slow drain, almost completely blocked, but they may not have known this. Some dishes were dirty. I do not recommend if you have bad knees due to the amount of stairs inside and outside the villa. The picture showed a tennis court and pool for captain court guests only, but we were told we did not have access to the tennis court, a code needed which we could not have. Also, when I read the details about the place, it mentioned the Omni pool, so I asked if we had access to the Omni pool and was told it was right next door and they had a key. I asked if we also had access to the Omni gym, and I was told no. I asked again about the Omni pool- so pool only. They said the pool is right beside it. When I got there, I asked again about the Omni pool, and continued to get vague answers. We did not have access to the Omni pool. We did have access to the small pool that captain court only guests have , but not the court as stated on the sign at the pool. Tennis and the Omni pool weee the main reasons for picking this place. I asked for pictures of the stairs since I have bad knees, no response. There is really no way to avoid the steps. There is a posting on the refrigerator that clearly states, “You do not have access to the Omni pool.” Just be honest and let people know before they book this place. Very deceiving. The place was descent but not worth over $3000 for 5 nights.

401 Captains Court

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: After looking online at over 50 other options we selected 104 Captains Court. This condo is in the building closest to the Omni hotel building but does not feel like it is next door. When on the beach there’s as plenty of space to enjoy the Florida sunshine and ocean. The beach was not crowded. The only negative to the property outdoor areas was that there were TONS of stairs. Lots of stairs from the parking lot that were under a canopy of trees. Lots of stairs up to the building and turn down to the beach via a LONG walkway. Entry level includes a tiled floor room with a broom closet and laundry room. The washer and dryer were new and worked well, and there was a drying rack. Up about 8 steps to the 2nd floor. The condo had a comfortable family room and dining room with great views on the 2nd floor. There were about 8 steps up to the 3rd floor that including two bedrooms, a bath in the hall & one with en suite full bath. Up about 8 more steps to an open room (like a sitting room with a daybed and desk. A doorway leads to the master bedroom and bath. Overall, the redecoration of the condo is successful, but we would not rent again due to the uncomfortable mattresses, the lack of easy use of the patio of the master because the door didn’t open easily. Additionally, the condo was not cleaned to our expectations. Covid-19 cleaning has dominated but this condo had excessive coffee stains in the kitchen sink that it took me 4 paper towels to clean. There was grime all around the kitchen sink and bathroom sinks. There was loose sand all over the entry table. There was grime around the master bath sink. There was more, but I believe this is a sign of a company that has too many properties to properly assure proper results. We alerted the staff of cleanliness issue and there was no follow up. We also killed at least 20 bugs each night in two of the bedrooms. There is no cable TV. Bring your own jet-dry for the extreme spotting on dishes/glasses after dishwash

Amelia Island

Love the island, great place for a vacation, the location and resort is excellent. The landscaping is gorgous. Condo was good, still needs a couple updates. Floor plan was great, master bedroom facing the sunrise was beautiful each morning.

When can we come back?!?

We loved this home so much. We had family in the next door condos and ours was the best condo for family game night after the sun went down. We walked to Omni every day for the pool and loved that resort. When we weren’t there we were at the beach enjoying the waves. Our teens loved renting bikes and riding all over the Omni area, which is loaded with paths and nature. The bed on the top floor was a great surprise and gave us an extra bed when cousins wanted a sleepover. Beach chairs and the beach wagon were a bonus too!!! Can’t wait to come back next year!!!!!

Family Vacation

Great property - everything was clean, the beach was close and everyone had a great time. We would definitely stay here again.
