大変親切で明るいご夫婦が経営されています。早く到着したにも関わらず、お部屋に通してくださいました。とても清潔でセンスの良い綺麗なお部屋です。 また、夕食も朝食も、本当に美味しくいただきました。私だけ1人でしたので、他のお客さん(ご夫婦、カップル)と違うメニューを準備してくださいました。朝はマフィンが食べきれないなと思っていたら、絶妙なタイミングでお持ち帰り用の袋をくださいました。 空港からも近く、非のつけどころのない宿です。もっとゆっくり訪れたいです。 お世話になりました。ありがとうございました！

Sometimes you know about a place when you walk in. There’s a sixth sense that lets you know you’ll be happy, comfortable and relaxed. That’s how it felt during our entire stay. Perfectly positioned to explore and our room was gorgeous and we had a sublime sea view. We had dinner on our first night. It was perhaps one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Great food, cooked well and served in style with warm service. Magical. But even better than dinner was breakfast. Perfect porridge. Dredges of brown sugar. Doused in cream and Laphroaig. Islay smoked salmon and eggs from their own flock. Haggis, black pudding and all the trimmings. Perfectly poached fruit. I’d eat that breakfast every day for the rest of my life and I’d be a very happy (and much rounder) man. If you’re a whisky lover, just bathe in what you’ll find: drams that you won’t see elsewhere, and even if you could you wouldn’t find a better place to enjoy them. But it’s not the things that make a place, it’s the people. Graeme and Emma’s hospitality heritage shone from beginning to end. We genuinely felt like we were at home during our entire stay. If you ever get a chance to visit, you have to stay here. Once wasn’t enough. We’re already thinking about coming back.

Excellent elegant rooms and dining. Wondeful hosts. Very comfortable. Gourmet meals and breakfast. Easy 200 meter walk from airport exit up driveway. Excellent base to explore from. Prearrange taxi and transport or car rental before its needed on Islay. Can be difficult or not possible to get a ride/cab when you need it. This is true in the towns themselves too.

Emma and Grant were exceptional hosts. Contacted us before we landed in Islay. The house is beautiful and well decorated. A short walk to the airport which is not busy so if you didn’t look to the side and see the airport you would only notice the ocean and sheep grazing. The best breakfast we have had ever, and certainly the best in Scotland. A memorable experience.

The owners of this gorgeously appointed hotel will make you feel completely taken care of. They kept our schedule and offered many suggestions and set us up with local services -the dinning room and the high quality breakfast was high quality appointed and yet accomplished with comfort.

Any words I write about Emma and Graeme will not be enough to show our immense gratitude for their hospitality. Glenegedale is an experience to live at least once in a lifetime, from the amazing porridge served at breakfast (Laphroaig 10 has nothing to do with it) to the Superb Supper Club atmosphere, this has been bar-none the best experience you can live in the hospitality world. Best place to stay in Islay!
One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Emma and her husband are an amazing combo. Very knowledgeable and a great guide for Islay. It’s a great central location to take in the whole island. The food is amazing, the rooms are clean and cozy. Oh and try the seafood dinner, amazing!

Amazing hosts and accommodation. One of the warmest welcomes we have ever had and the breakfast was out of this world. On top of that we had a 3 course evening meal here one night which was the best of our holiday. Glenegedale house and it’s offerings are 5* ++++

Such a lovely experience!
Both of the hosts were amazing, Amy and Graham! They had tea waiting for us when we arrived and greeted us outside right when we got there. The place is so cute and clean! Our room over looked the water and we got to watch the sunset. They also did an amazing 3 course breakfast for us with homemade muffins and scotch porridge! It was truly a dream to stay there and we hope to go back one day!

Great hospitality on Islay
We had a fantastic stay on Islay at Glenegedale. Well located and beautifully maintained accommodation with excellent breakfast and if you opt for evening meals you won't be disappointed. A great all round stay and great hosting by Emma and Graeme. We would highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful experience at Glenegedale House and would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Islay. On arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown around the property after which we were offered tea and cake in the sitting room. We had dinner at the hotel that evening, which was delicious, as was the breakfast the next morning. It featured several courses and local specialties, including Scottish Porridge, poached fruits, and smoked salmon. The team is extremely helpful and warm and the rooms beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Islay

Great weekend away
We had a beautiful weekend away at Glenegedale House. Emma and Graeme are so welcoming (and make your stay even better with delicious food along the way!!) The porridge with whisky and cream was definitely a highlight, as was the rest of the spread at breakfast (incredibly generous for such a small B&B). Our hosts provided us with good recommendations for transport, restaurants and other activities, even offering to book anything that we needed on our behalf. Despite not being located in a town, the hotel is actually very well positioned between both Bowmore and Port Ellen, which are both about a ten minute drive away. We arrived by ferry, but if you were to fly to Islay, the B&B is directly across the road from the small local airport. There is also a bus stop at your front door which takes you to the southern distilleries. All in all, a lovely stay.

Islay Hospitality
Emma was an amazing host. The property was clean, the host was welcoming, and the breakfast was superb with a variety of fresh fruits and muffins to go with your main dish. (Definitely say yes to the porridge!!) Be aware, the property is not near any shops or... anything at all, really. It’s a proper country house surrounded by beautiful nature (and right in front of a bus stop) so if you want to eat out or get groceries you’ll have to plan for it as the closest store is 4-5 miles away. All in all a wonderful experience. You’re also situated between Bowmore and Port Ellen, so that’s 4 distilleries checked off the list!

AMAZING. The Glengedale House far surpassed any expectations we had. We flew from Glasgow and the house is literally across from the tiny airport in Islay (the traffic is very low so you don't hear any noise, not to worry!). The house itself is gorgeous and Emma and Graeme are wonderful hosts. Emma reached out to us a few days in advance before check in to let us know what we would need & tips and such. She also offered a "taste of Scotland" charcuterie platter for dinner & we decided to order it and we were glad of it. It was delicious and in their beautiful dining area with a sunset view of the sheep while we enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was also top notch! There was so much effort put into every part of our stay that we were simply blown away. The rooms are fantastic and the beds and linens were like heaven. Thoughtful amenities en suite, too, like teas and treats. Word to the wise, you will need to plan ahead on Islay, especially without a car. We went to Islay specifically to visit the Jura distillery (which will take you the better part of the day). The buses do run and will take you to the distilleries and downtown; there are only precious few taxis on the island and they need to be booked in advance. Emma was very helpful in pointing this out and in getting us where we needed to be. We had a lovely time!

We have sourced the very best of Scottish ingredients and have had so much fun with the suppliers making sure they all complement each other.....it makes for a great slightly lighter meal with amazing flavours. The house itself, our room, the two sitting rooms and the breakfast room were elegantly and comfortably furnished . Emma was so helpful before we arrived even sending me a heads up about our ferry, as well as once we were there, lending us map, booking distillery tour helping with tickets. She could not have done more. And then there was breakfast by Graeme and Emma. A sideboard with over 14 different fresh fruit and 6 kinds of homemade poached fruit, yogurt, cereal and porridge and hot breakfast of choice. The full Scottish was perfect as was the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. This was the best experience in a guest house ever in over 50 years of travel

A wonderful place to stay.
A wonderful stay - Islay is gorgeous and Glenegedale House was absolutely superb. Terrific hosts, delicious food and a beautifully presented house. Everything was perfect; plenty of hot water and lovely toiletries; a comfy bed with beautiful soft yet crisp sheets and scrumptious breakfasts with very special porridge. A wonderfully warm welcome promised a wonderful stay and we certainly were not disappointed. We would highly recommend Glenegedale House.

Fantastic breakfasts!
Although the property is directly across the main road from the airport (it is a small airport with only a few flights in/out p/day), it is conveniently located a few miles outside of Port Ellen and close drive to other towns on the island. The island itself is beautiful and our stay at Glenegedale House was also a delight! The owners made us feel at home with fantastic breakfasts, and well appointed rooms with linens and robes with a wonderful scent to help relax after a full day of sightseeing. Thanks again, Graeme and Emma, for helping to make our 30th wedding anniversary trip one we will never forget!

Incredible Hospitality
Communication with Emma & Graeme before arrival excellent. we were greeted by Graeme & Emma, Pot of fresh Coffee, Tea & Home Made Raspberry Cake, incredible, this hospitality continued throughout our stay. The location's great, 3 or 4 flights at the A/P across the Road (excellent if you fly in), it was so tranquil & quiet. Communal lounges are very comfortable & homely, we made good use of them getting to know fellow guests. Rooms are very comfortable, all with different views of the Island. Every area of Glenegedale House was immaculately, my Wife is very house proud, she felt so comfortable in this lovely welcoming clean home away from home. A spaciouse Dinning area but still cosy enough to enjoy other Guests company if desired, we meet a lovely couple on the first night at pre Dinner Drinks which made our stay even more pleasurable. We asked if we could Dinner at the House, bear in mind this is a B&B, we'd heard mention of a set meal, cold spread of locally produced delights, as we say, 'Ifits, if its in the Fridge you can have it'. We were served with a cold spread of amazing Food, Hot Smoked & Smoked Salmon, Pheasant & Venison Pie, various Cured Meats, three Cheeses & Basket of Home Baked Bread, fantastic & incredible don't do it justice. Breakfast consisted of more excellently prepared local Foods (Eggs from the Family Chickens), Porridge, Brown Sugar, Whisky & Cream, 22 different Fruits both fresh & in Dressings, plus Cereal, Yoguart etc. Thank you both so much!

Graeme and I really enjoyed every chat we had with the two of you and learning about young your lovely wife and your life. What incredible experiences you have both had and continue to do so. Beautiful Stay
A very comfortable room and the choice of tasteful spaces to sit and read. You will need a car to get around Islay but Glenegedale house is a short drive to Bowmore for dinner. Emma and Graeme make the most beautiful breakfasts. A lovely stop in Islay.
