## Emplacement
In the Var, it is a city with 2,400 years of history. This city is Hyères, about twenty kilometers east of Toulon. Nicknamed the city of palm trees, Hyères has preserved all its charm of yesteryear. To discover it, stroll through the picturesque streets of the old medieval town perched on the hill of Castéou.

Enter through the Massillon gate, which marks the entrance to the historic center, then stroll to see old houses with colorful facades, brightly colored stalls or a vaulted passage under the ancient ramparts. It is at the top of the hill that you will find the castle of the Lords of Fos, built in the 11th century, and around which the city has developed over time. Today in ruins, the medieval fortress offers its visitors superb viewpoints over the bay of Hyères and the Maures massif!

Hyères also has magnificent gardens and parks. Don’t miss a stroll in one of its remarkable gardens such as the Saint-Bernard park with exotic and Mediterranean essences, located on the heights of the medieval city, or the Olbius Riquier park dotted with colorful massifs, palm trees and exotic plants.
