"As a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome.

"We were walking the Reivers Way. We had a great welcome. The room was excellent, very spacious, clean and comfortable with a bath, just what was needed after a days walk.
The restaurant food was excellent and good value. Unfortunately my wife said her hip was hurting. The following morning my wife hip was still hurting so we decided to discontinue our walk and to travel home.
Unfortunately because of a road closure the bus from Wark to Hexham wasn’t running. The receptionist, contacted her...

"Medi, the chef, and his wife, Daniella, run the Inn and gave us both a warm, friendly welcome. The room was tidy and clean and we both had good night's sleeps even though the room was above the pub..I recommend Medi's Eggs Benedict which was fantastic and he also catered in the evening with great home made food - I had the best fish and chips I've had for many a year..I'd recommend the Sunday roast too which was awesome and over generous...and reasonably priced...

"A really comfortable weekend stay, easy walking distance to Hadrian’s Wall. The cottage is well equipped and dog friendly, the only downside was the adjacent Milecastle Inn isn’t doesn’t allow dogs inside. They do allow dogs in the beer garden which would be great in good weather but we visited in early March and it wasn’t sitting out weather. Haltwhistle is short drive away with dog friendly pubs, good Fish and Chips shops and supermarkets.

A mixture of old and new & my room(in the garden block) was spacious,modern & a lovely view from the patio over the cricket pitch & down to the Tyne. Food was very good,I ate in the bar but you can go more formal if you want.
Hotel is in an enviable position,just outside Bellingham so access to roads easy. Even an indoor pool. If you like comfort,without formality,I would highly recommend."

"Booked last minute and being a 3star it really was exactly what I needed. Quiet and clean and managed to get a good night sleep.. lady at the reception and on the phone were spot on.. very nice. Brilliant having free parking on site and everything was contactless. Side door to get to the room and back out.. hassle free. "

On arrival just before the 3 pm check-in time the place was shut, doors locked and curtains drawn. Called the mobile number several times and messaged the mobile to inform the person I was waiting to check in. At about 15:30 I had to check into ANOTHER hotel as I had meetings in Corbridge at 16:15. On returning to Hexham I noted the pub was open and I spoke to the manager about the issues I...
