"A great find! The room was spacious and well maintained, the host was lovely, and it was a close walk to numerous stalls with a variety of goods and amazing fresh produce. Having a kitchen allowed me to stay in if I wanted, but the apartment was also close to bars and restaurants. There is a close-by bar that plays loud music, but not super late, and I actually liked hearing the local music. The people I met were so friendly! "Retro Boutique is a great, small hotel near Diani Beach. I stayed in the deluxe double room on the top floor, and I was amazed at how large my room was. "Staff were very help full and very helpful. The was no AC only one ceiling fan and stand alone fan so the bedroom accommodation was uncomfortable to sleep in. The shower head fell off twice and needs replacing. Due to a management changeover the visa machine was not working so paying at the property was a problem. The beach is 700 metres walk away along two rough roads so takes 20 minutes or 200 to 250 KSH with either Uber or the villa taxi service. Several good restaurants and two supermarkets...

"The term Luxury cottage is an insult. The pictures are very misleading.This place is so run down. The staff you can tell is trying hard but obviously the owner cares nothing about customer service or being honest. Our "Luxury cottage" had no microwave, no satellite TV and the kitchen and living room were exposed to heat as there are no windows only loose screening that let lots of bugs in. The couch and beds sit on concrete reminiscent of city jail. I realize this property is in the tropics but...
