"Sam was a wonderful host and made sure we knew where everything was! Very easy sharing bathroom as Sam had rules about not leaving anything in the bathroom and it was always spotless as I am pretty sure it was cleaned daily!! The living space was very large and comfortable along with a beautiful deck!! Location was great for visiting Halifax and parking on the wharf in Halifax was very simple and economical"

"On the outside, this was a nice place to stay. For having renovated the hotel, I was not impressed.
To start, do not expect handicap access to anything! We did dine in the hotel restaurant and the food was good. Our room was openly good size and nice, but the bathroom was small and not thought out at all. My hands hit the back of the sink trying to wash them. "We found Nalu Retreat to be a true gem! The Dome was just like it appears in the photos. Everything was clean, clean, clean and tastefully done. As a former boutique hotel manager & chef I was impressed with the attention to detail. Comfortable leather sofa, extra throws, nature sounds, plenty of plugs, kitchen supplies, Robes, Turkish towels, goodies in the kitchenette, too many to mention. We were enthralled with the setting and enjoyed our time in the hot tub and the privacy surrounding us....

"Staying at the Fourth Lock was very convenient for us, as we needed a place close to the airport where we could do a late check-in. We weren't looking for anything fancy, but this was great! Parking was easy and so was finding the place. The only slightly complaint I had was that by the looks of the parking lot, there weren't many other people staying in the inn that night, but the room directly above us had people in it.. this made for a disruptive sleep as we woke up every time they woke up to...
