Relax on your private deck and enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets across the surrounding landscape. With no streetlights, Kangaroo House is a wonderful place to enjoy the night sky and stargaze. On clear nights, you may even have the opportunity to see the Aurora Australis.

🐾 Wildlife & Bushland

This is a genuine Tasmanian bushland experience. Wallabies, echidnas, native birds, blue-tongue lizards and other wildlife may be seen around the property. You may also encounter farm animals and insects — all part of staying in a natural rural environment.

Walking trails around the property provide opportunities to explore the surrounding bushland.

🌱 Off-Grid Living

Kangaroo House operates using solar power, generators, tank water, gas and a greywater system. Guests are asked to be mindful of water and energy use during their stay.

🚗 Getting Here

The property is accessed via bitumen followed by a short, well-maintained gravel road. Standard vehicles can access the property, but please drive carefully, particularly at night, as there are no streetlights and wildlife may be active on the roads.

A car is strongly recommended as there is no regular public transport to the property. Taxis and Uber may be available.

🔑 Self Check-In

Guests have full private access to Kangaroo House. Self check-in is available via a lockbox.

All guests are required to complete our online Check-In Form and provide valid photo identification before arrival. The form contains our House Rules and Terms & Conditions. Once completed, guests will receive their self check-in and access details.
