My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sa-Hi cottage in Highlands. The house is very spacious. The Kitchen is beautiful and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The three larger bedrooms have lovely, comfy beds, comforters and pillows. We did not use the small bedroom with twin beds; but would probably be okay for small children. Bathrooms are well-equipped with lots of plush towels. My two Afghan hounds especially enjoyed the fabulous screened in porch in the early mornings and late evenings.
Everything was cleaned really well before our arrival, except for the open side porch. We could not sit on mildewed outdoor cushions and the outdoor grill was unusable.
My only real complaint would be the lack of central air. The master bedroom a.c. unit worked very well, but the kitchen unit was not adequate to cool off the rest of the house.
Bedroom 2 and 3 are downstairs, and it was quite warm and uncomfortable for those guests.
Also, upon entering , the house has a very musty odor, similar to any lake or beach cottage without central air.
Overall, it was a very good experience and we really loved the town of Highlands! Just a note of caution for travelers from the flatlands (we are from South Florida), be sure to have an all wheel drive vehicle. We had a large conversion van (no all wheel drive), and it was a harrowing experience each time we went down the mountain and up again. The roads are narrow, winding , steep and terrifying with long stretches of no railings!
Would love to visit again, if I can face the fear of the roads.
