I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at this hotel was incredibly disappointing—particularly with the front desk staff. Upon arrival after a 10-hour drive, I walked in and wasn’t even acknowledged. I stood awkwardly until the front desk staff finished their personal conversation before I was helped.
Two weeks before my trip, I spoke directly with the hotel and Expedia about needing a larger room after adding a fifth adult to our party. I was told it was noted and taken care of at no additional cost. Yet when I arrived, there was no record of that conversation, and I was told I’d have to pay full price for another room, despite already paying in full through Expedia.
Frustrated, I asked if I should call Expedia to sort it out—which I shouldn’t have had to do in the first place. The same front desk associate basically said yes. I was exhausted from being up since 2am, and this was the last thing I wanted to deal with. After calling Expedia, they confirmed a record of the request but said it lacked details about a room upgrade. They then called the hotel, spoke to the same associate I did, and magically—she got the manager involved. Within minutes, the manager approved the request with zero pushback.
Why wasn’t this solution offered to me directly? Why did I have to go through hoops for something that could’ve been resolved right away?
When I was finally checked in, there was no clear communication—no directions, no info about breakfast, Wi-Fi, amenities—nothing.
